So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

It's time to stand with our brother Guy Cohen in Akko.  Guy is a native of Akko and leads our daughter congregation there, Katzir Asher (Harvest of Asher).  In just two days we will dedicate their beautiful new facility, on the third birthday of the fellowship.   It seems no coincidence,  that a strong wave of persecution has hit this young leader and his family just as the final flurry of contractors' work is being completed.

우리의 형제인 아코 교회의 가이 코헨과 함께 설 때입니다.

가이는 아코 출신이며 그 곳에서 카지르 아셰르(악고= 이코교회이름)교회 목사입니다.

그 교회의 창립 삼주년이 되는 이틀 후에 우리는 새로 지은 아름다운 건물을 헌당할 계획입니다.

건축업자들의 마지막 작업이 한창인 이 때에 가이목사와 그의 가족에게

강력한 박해가 가해지고 있는 것은 결코 우연이 아닌 것 같습니다.




EDICT AGAINST GUY COHEN
가이에 대한 반대 칙령

During the past week an "edict" against Guy was sent out to all the synagogues in Akko.  The edict was full of lies, playing to the fears of the community and seeking maximum political gain.  It contained a "ban" on contact with, cooperation with and activity with Guy Cohen and Tents of Mercy.  As a result a number of workers walked off the job, in the finishing stages of the construction!  

지난 주 동안에 가이에 반대하는 "칙령"이 아코에 있는 모든 회당에 퍼졌습니다.

그 칙령은 거짓말로 가득차 있었고, 공동체 내에 있는 두려움을 이용해서

최대한의 정치적 이득을 차지하려는 야심이 보였습니다.

그 칙령에서는 가이 코헨과 Tents of Mercy 사역과의 어떠한 거래나 협력 및 활동을 "금지"하고 있었습니다.

그 결과, 건축의 마지막 단계에 있는 이 때에 많은 노동자들이 작업장을 떠났습니다.

Then, yesterday, heavy pressure was brought to bear on the Mayor of Akko by the city's chief rabbi.  Until now we have had superb relationships with the mayor and his staff, collaborating on many civic projects together bringing aid to the citizens of Akko over the past five years.   As a result of this pressure, he has cancelled any joint projects and renounced any connection with the Akko congregation or Tents of Mercy.  For those of you who have followed the amazing story of our friendship with the mayor, this comes as a severe disappointment.  It is betrayal for the sake of political leverage.  

그러더니, 어제는 아코 도시의 최고 랍비가 악고시의 시장을 찾아가서는 강한 압력을 가했습니다.

이제까지 지난 5년간 아코 교회는 시에서 수행하는 각종 프로젝트에서 협력하고 아코 시민들에게 도움을 주는 등,  

시장 및 직원들과  최고의 관계를 맺어 왔습니다.

그러나 랍비가 압력을 행사한 결과로, 시장은 모든 공동 프로젝트를 취소시켰으며

Tents of Mercy 사역(악고교회 tents of Mercy의 딸교회) 과의 어떠한 관계도 끊어버렸습니다.

우리가 시장과 맺어 온 우정과 협력의 놀라운 이야기를 들었던 분들에게는 엄청난 실망으로 다가올 것입니다.

시장은 정치적인 이득을 얻기 위해서 아코 교회를 배신한 것입니다.




PAINFUL BETRAYAL
가슴 아픈 배신

This betrayal is accentuated by the fact that the man spreading these lies, a member of the city council, has known Guy since his youth.  He has refused to back off, even after Guy's repeated and reasonable appeals.  Furthermore, Akko is a small town.  Guy has had remarkable favor as his ministry has unfolded.  This overt attempt to besmirch his name, very publically, shows that the enemy is upset and desperate.  Which is where you come in.  NOW IS THE TIME TO INTERCEDE WITH AUTHORITY AND FOCUS.  WE CAN BRING CHANGE TO THE SITUATION.

가이에 대한 거짓말을 퍼뜨리고 있는 시의원은 젊었을 때부터 가이를 알고 지냈습니다.

가이는 지속적으로 합리적인 항변을 하였지만 그 시의원은 물러서지를 않습니다.

게다가 아코는 작은 마을입니다. 가이는 사역을 시작한 이래로 많은 호의를 받아왔습니다.

가이의 명예를 매우 공개적으로 손상시키려는 공공연한 시도는

우리의 적이 매우 분개한 상태로 필사적인 도전을 하고 있음을 보여줍니다.

이제 당신이 도와주셔야 합니다. 시 당국을 위해서 중보기도해 주시고 여기에 초점을 맞추어 주십시오.

I have two requests.  One, is that you intercede with us in accord with the simple but vital points below.  The second, is that you pray about helping me purchase a Torah Scroll for this new Messianic synagogue.  What an important witness this will be, to openly counter the accusations about Guy, that he is leading Jews to forsake their heritage and identity as Jews when they accept Yeshua.  We have located a superb scroll that will be a permanent, valuable part of the congregation's cycle of celebration.  I acted on inspiration yesterday and told Guy "I'm sure there are many of our friends who would be delighted to assist me in obtaining a scroll for you.  This will be SUCH encouragement for Guy and the congregation.  If you are interested, please contact me at the ohalei@netvision.net.il address and I'll be in touch with you.
