이사야 49:8-15
8 야훼께서 말씀하신다. "너의 소원을 기뻐 들어 줄 때가 온다. 너를 도와 주고 구원해 줄 날이 온다. 그 날 내가 손수 빚은 너를 사이에 두고 나의 백성과 계약을 맺으리라. 그 날 너는 쑥밭이 되었던 유산을 되찾아 This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances,
9 감옥에 갇혀 있는 자들에게 일러라. '어서 나오너라.' 캄캄한 곳에 웅크리고 있는 자들에게 일러라. '나와 몸을 드러내어라.' 그들은 가는 길마다에서 풀을 뜯으리니 돌아가는 길가 어디든지 뜯을 풀이 있고 사는 곳마다에서 푸른 풀로 덮인 언덕을 만나리라. to say to the captives, 'Come out,' and to those in darkness, 'Be free!' "They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.
10 그들은 결코 배고프거나 목마르지 아니하리라. 열풍에 쓰러지고 햇볕에 넘어지는 일도 없으리라. 내가 그들을 가엾게 여겨 이끌어주고 샘이 솟는 곳으로 인도해 주리라.
They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.
11 첩첩산중에 길을 닦고 굽이굽이 큰길을 돋우어 주리라.
I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.
12 먼 곳에서 돌아가는 이 사람들을 보아라. 북에서도 서에서도 돌아가고 시님족의 나라에서도 돌아 간다." See, they will come from afar--some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan."
13 하늘아, 환성을 올려라. 땅아, 기뻐 뛰어라. 산들아, 기뻐 소리를 질러라. 야훼께서 당신의 백성을 위로하시고 그 천대받는 자들을 극진히 사랑하셨다.
Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
14 "'야훼께서 나를 버리셨다. 나의 주께서 나를 잊으셨다' 고 너 시온은 말하였었지.
But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me."
15 여인이 자기 젖먹이를 어찌 잊으랴! 자기가 낳은 아이를 어찌 가엾게 여기지 않으랴! 어미는 혹시 잊을지 몰라도 나는 결코 너를 잊지 아니하리라.
"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

시편 145:8-18
8 야훼는 자애롭고 자비로우시며 화를 참으시고 사랑이 지극하시다.
The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
9 야훼는 모든 것을 인자하게 보살피시고 그 부드러운 사랑은 모든 피조물에 미친다.
The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
10 야훼여, 당신의 온갖 피조물들이 감사노래 부르고 신도들이 당신을 찬양하게 하소서.
All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you.
11 그들이 당신 나라의 영광을 들어 말하고 당신의 공적을 이야기하게 하소서.
They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might,
12 그리하여 당신의 공적을 사람에게 알리고 당신 나라의 그 찬란한 영광을 알리게 하소서.
so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 당신의 나라는 영원한 나라, 당신만이 만세에 왕이십니다. 야훼의 말씀은 언제나 진실되고, 그 하시는 일 모두 사랑의 업적이다. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.
14 누구나 쓰러지면 붙들어 주시고 거꾸러지면 일으켜 주신다.
The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
15 모든 눈들이 당신만 쳐다보고 기다립니다. 철을 따라 양식을 주실 분 당신밖에 없사옵니다.
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.
16 당신께서 손만 벌리시면 살아 있는 모든 것 원대로 배부릅니다.
You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
17 야훼 가시는 길은 언제나 바르시고, 그 하시는 일 모두 사랑의 업적이다.
The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.
18 야훼는, 당신을 부르는 자에게, 진정으로 부르는 자에게 가까이 가시고
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

요한 5:17-30
17 그러나 예수깨서는 그들에게 "내 아버지께서 언제나 일하고 계시니 나도 일하는 것이다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working."
18 이 때문에 유다인들은 예수를 죽이려는 마음을 더욱 굳혔다. 예수께서 안식일법을 어기셨을 뿐만 아니라 하나님을 자기 아버지라고 하시며 자기를 하나님과 같다고 하셨기 때문이다.
For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
19 그래서 예수께서는 유다인들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "정말 잘 들어 두어라. 아들은 아버지께서 하시는 일을 보고 그대로 할 뿐이지 무슨 일이나 마음대로 할 수는 없다. 아버지께서 하시는 일을 아들도 할 따름이다.
Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
20 아버지께서는 아들을 사랑하셔서 친히 하시는 일을 모두 아들에게 보여 주신다. 그뿐만 아니라 아들을 시켜 이보다 더 큰일도 보여 주실 것이다. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these.
21 그것을 보면 너희는 놀랄 것이다. 아버지께서 죽은 이들을 일으켜 다시 살리시듯이 아들도 살리고 싶은 사람들은 살릴 것이다. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.
22 또한 아버지께서는 친히 아무도 심판하지 않으시고 그 권한을 모두 아들에게 맡기셔서 모든 사람이 아버지를 존경하듯이 아들도 존경하게 하셨다.
Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,
23 아들을 존경하지 않는 사람은 아들을 보내신 아버지도 존경하지 않는다."
that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
24 "정말 잘 들어 두어라. 내 말을 듣고 나를 보내신 분을 믿는 사람은 영원한 생명을 얻을 것이다. 그 사람은 심판을 받지 않을 뿐만 아니라 이미 죽음의 세계에서 벗어나 생명의 세계로 들어섰다.
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
25 정말 잘 들어 두어라. 때가 오면 죽은 이들이 하나님의 아들의 음성을 들은 이들은 살아날 터인데 바로 지금이 그 때이다. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.
26 아버지께서 생명의 근원이신 것처럼 아들도 생명의 근원이 되게 하셨다
For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.
27 아버지께서는 또한 아들에게 심판하는 권한을 주셨다. 그는 사람의 아들이기 때문이다
And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
28 내 말에 놀라지 말라. 죽은 이들이 모두 그의 음성을 듣고 무덤에서 나올 때가 올 것이다.
"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice
29 그 때가 오면 선한 일을 한 사람들은 부활하여 생명의 나라에 들어가고 악한 일을 한 사람들은 부활하여 단죄를 받게 될 것이다." and come out--those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.
30 "나는 무슨 일이나 내 마음대로 할 수 없고 그저 하나님께서 하라고 하시는 대로 심판할 따름이다. 내가 이루고자 하는 것은 내 뜻이 아니라 나를 보내신 분의 뜻이기 때문에 내 심판은 올바르다."
By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
