예레미야 30:1-2, 12-15, 18-22
1 "내가 분명히 말한다. 그 때가 되어야 나는 이스라엘 모든 지파의 하나님이 되고, 그들은 나의 백성이 되리라. "At that time," declares the LORD, "I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they will be my people."
2 나 야훼가 선언한다. 칼부림에서 빠져 나온 백성이 사막에서 나의 은혜를 입었다. 안식처를 찾아 나선 이스라엘에게 This is what the LORD says: "The people who survive the sword will find favor in the desert; I will come to give rest to Israel."
12 이제 그들은 시온 언덕에 와서 환성을 올리리라. 이 야훼가 주는 선물을 받으러 밀려들리라. 밀곡식, 햇포도주, 올리브 기름에다 양새끼와 송아지까지 받으리라. 마음 또한 물 댄 동산같이 다시는 시들지 아니하리라. They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD--the grain, the new wine and the oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more.
13 그렇게 되면 처녀는 기뻐하며 춤추고 젊은이와 노인이 함께 기쁨으로 바꾸고 근심에 찼던 마음을 위로하여 즐겁게 하리라. Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
14 사제들은 잘 먹여 기름기가 돌게 하고 내 백성은 좋은 것을 먹여 배부르게 하리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다. I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty," declares the LORD.
15 나 야훼가 말한다. 라마에서 통곡소리가 들린다. 애절한 울음소리가 들린다. 라헬이 자식을 잃고 울고 있구나. 그 눈앞에 아이들이 없어 위로하는 말이 하나도 귀에 들어가지 않는구나.
This is what the LORD says: "A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more."
16 이 야훼의 말을 들어라. 울음을 그치고 눈물을 거두어라. 애태운 보람이 있어 자식들이 적국에서 돌아 오리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
This is what the LORD says: "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded," declares the LORD. "They will return from the land of the enemy.
17 밝은 앞날이 너를 기다리고 있다. 내가 분명히 말한다. 너의 자식들이 고향으로 돌아오리라.
So there is hope for your future," declares the LORD. "Your children will return to their own land.
18 에브라임이 가슴 아파하는 소리를 나는 분명히 들었다. '우리는 길들지 않은 송아지처럼 당신께 매를 맞았습니다. 우리 하나님은 야훼시라, 주께 돌아가고 싶습니다. 부디 우리를 받아 주십시오.
"I have surely heard Ephraim's moaning: 'You disciplined me like an unruly calf, and I have been disciplined. Restore me, and I will return, because you are the LORD my God.
19 우리는 주님을 떠난 다음 잘못을 깨닫고 가슴치며 뉘우쳤습니다. 부끄러워 얼굴을 들 수 없었습니다. 젊어서 잘못한 일로 우리는 수모를 받았습니다.'
After I strayed, I repented; after I came to understand, I beat my breast. I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth.'
20 오냐! 에브라임은 내 아들이다. 눈에 넣어도 아프지 않은 나의 귀염둥이다. 책망을 하면서도 나는 한번도 잊은 일이 없었다. 가엾은 생각에 내 마음은 아프기만 하였다. 내가 진정으로 하는 말이다.
Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him," declares the LORD.
21 푯말을 세워 두어라. 갔던 길을 잊지 않도록 길목마다 표를 해 두어라. 처녀 이스라엘아, 그 길로 돌아오너라. 너희가 살던 이 성읍들로 돌아오너라.
"Set up road signs; put up guideposts. Take note of the highway, the road that you take. Return, O Virgin Israel, return to your towns.
22 바람둥이 같은 딸아, 언제까지 떠돌기만 하겠느냐? 욕먹는 계집을 정숙하게 만들어 세상에 없던 일을 나는 하리라. How long will you wander, O unfaithful daughter? The LORD will create a new thing on earth--a woman will surround a man."

시편 102:16-22
16 야훼께서 시온을 다시 일으키실 때 영광중에 나타나시고
For the LORD will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory.
17 헐벗은 자의 소리를 들어 주시며 애원하는 그 소리를 물리치지 않으시리니,
He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.
18 새 백성이 하나님을 찬양하도록 오는 세대를 위하여 이것을 기록해 두어라.
Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
19 야훼께서 저 높은 성소에서 굽어 보셨다. 하늘에서 이 땅을 살펴보셨다.
"The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 갇힌 자들의 신음소리 들으시고 죽음에 불린 자들을 놓아 주셨다.
to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death."
21 야훼의 명성 시온에 울려 퍼지고 그 찬미소리 예루살렘에 자자한 가운데
So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem
22 임금마다 그 백성을 거느리고서 야훼를 섬기러 모여들리라.
when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.

마태복음 14:22-36
22 예수께서 곧 제자들을 재촉하여 배를 태워 건너편으로 먼저 가게 하시고 그 동안에 군중을 돌려 보내셨다. Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.
23 군중을 보내신 뒤에 조용히 기도하시려고 산으로 올라 가셔서 날이 이미 저물었는데도 거기에 혼자 계셨다. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
24 그 동안에 배는 육지에서 멀리 떨어져 있었는데 역풍을 만나 풍랑에 시달리고 있었다.
but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 새벽 네 시쯤 되어 예수께서 물 위를 걸어서 제자들에게 오셨다.
During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26 예수께서 물 위를 걸어오시는 것을 본 제자들은 겁에 질려 엉겁결에 "유령이다!" 하며 소리를 질렀다.  When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27 예수께서 제자들을 향하여 "나다, 안심하여라. 겁낼 것 없다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
28 베드로가 예수께 "주님이십니까? 그러시다면 저더러 물 위로 걸어오라고 하십시오" 하고 소리쳤다.
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
29 예수께서 "오너라" 하시자 베드로는 배에서 내려 물 위를 밟고 그에게로 걸어갔다. "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 그러다가 거센 바람을 보자 그만 무서운 생각이 들어 물에 빠져들게 되었다. 그는 "주님, 살려주십시오!" 하고 비명을 질렀다.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31 예수께서 곧 손을 내밀어 그를 붙잡으시며 "왜 의심을 품었느냐? 그렇게도 믿음이 약하냐?" 하고 말씀하셨다. Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
32 그리고 함께 배에 오르시자 바람이 그쳤다.
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33 배 안에 있던 사람들이 그 앞에 엎드려 절하며 "주님은 참으로 하나님의 아들이십니다" 하고 말하였다. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
34 그들이 바다를 건너 겐네사렛 땅에 이르렀을 때에
When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.
35 그 곳 사람들이 예수를 알아보고 그 부근 지방에 두루 사람을 보내어 온갖 병자들을 다 데려 왔다.
And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him
36 그리고 그들은 병자들이 예수의 옷자락만이라도 만지게 해달라고 청하였다. 만진 사람은 모두 깨끗이 나았다. and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.
