예레미야 26:1-9
1 요시야의 아들 여호야킴이 유다 왕이 되어 다스리기 시작할 무렵이었다. 야훼께서 예레미야에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
Early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the LORD:
2 "나 야훼가 말한다. 너는 내 집 마당에 가 서서, 유다 모든 성읍에서 내 집에 예배하러 오는 사람들에게 내가 너에게 전하라고 준 말을 하나도 빼놓지 말고 다 일러 주어라.
"This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD'S house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.
3 행여 이 백성이 내 말을 듣고 그 못된 생활태도를 고친다면 얼마나 좋겠느냐? 그렇게만 한다면, 재앙을 퍼부어 그 악한 소행을 벌하려던 계획을 나는 거두리라.
Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from his evil way. Then I will relent and not bring on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.
4 너는 야훼의 말이라고 하며 이렇게 일러 주어라. '내 말을 따라 살아라. 내가 세워 준 법대로 살아라.
Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: If you do not listen to me and follow my law, which I have set before you,
5 내가 거듭거듭 보내는 나의 종 예언자들의 말을 들어라.
and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened),
6 그러지 않으면 내가 이 집을 실로처럼 만들리니, 이 성읍은 세상 모든 민족에게 욕을 먹게 되리라.'"
then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city an object of cursing among all the nations of the earth.'"
7 사제들과 예언자들과 일반 민중은 예레미야가 야훼의 성전에서 이런 말을 하는 것을 다 들었다.
The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the LORD.
8 예레미야가 야훼께 받은 말씀을 그대로 전 국민에게 전하자, 사제들과 예언자들과 일반 민중이
예레미야를 붙잡고 말하였다. "이 죽일 놈아!
But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, "You must die!
9 어찌하여 네가 야훼의 이름을 빌어 이 성전이 실로 처럼 되고 이 성읍이 허물어져 사람이 못 살게 된다고 하느냐?" 그러면서 온 백성이 야훼의 성전으로 모여들어 예레미야에게 다가섰다.
Why do you prophesy in the LORD'S name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?" And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

시편 69:5-12
5 하나님, 나의 어리석음을 당신은 아시오니 내 죄를 당신께 숨길 수가 없사옵니다.
You know my folly, O God; my guilt is not hidden from you.
6 그러나 만군의 주 야훼여, 하나님을 믿고 바라는 자들이 나로 인하여 수치를 당하지 않게 하소서. 이스라엘의 하나님, 당신을 찾는 자들이 나로 인하여 욕보지 않게 하소서.
May those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me, O Lord, the LORD Almighty; may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel.
7 이 몸은 하나님을 위하여 욕을 당했고 온갖 모욕을 다 받았습니다.
For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face.
8 동기간에게는 따돌림을 받았고 내 어머니 소생에게는 남과 같은 취급을 받았습니다.
I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother's sons;
9 당신 집을 향한 내 열정이 나를 불사릅니다. 당신 향한 욕설이 이몸 위에 쏟아져,
for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.
10 내가 단식하며 목메어 울었더니, 그것이 도리어 놀림거리가 되었습니다.
When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn;
11 베옷을 걸치고 슬퍼했더니 도리어 남의 말거리가 되었습니다.
when I put on sackcloth, people make sport of me.
12 성문께 모여 서서 내 이야기로 입방아를 찧고 술에 취하면 나를 빈정거려 노래합니다.
Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I am the song of the drunkards.

마태복음 13:54-58
54 고향으로 가셔서 회당에서 가르치셨다. 사람들은 놀라며 "저 사람이 저런 지혜와 능력을 어디서 받았을까? Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked.
55 저 사람은 그 목수의 아들이 아닌가? 어머니는 마리아요, 그 형제들은 야고보, 요셉, 시몬, 유다가 아닌가? "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?
56 그리고 그의 누이들은 모두 우리 동네 사람들이 아닌가? 그런데 저런 모든 지혜와 능력이 어디서 생겼을까?" 하면서 Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?"
57 예수를 도무지 믿으려 하지 않았다. 예수께서는 그들에게 "어디서나 존경을 받는 예언자도 제 고향과 제 집에서만은 존경을받지 못한다" 하고 말씀하셨다. And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor."
58 그리고 그들이 믿지 않으므로 그 곳에서는 별로 기적을 베풀지 않으셨다.
And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
