미가 6:1-4, 6-8
1 잘 들어라. 야훼께서 말씀하신다. "일어나 산악을 향해 변명해 보아라. 할 말이 있거든 언덕들에게 말해 보아라." Listen to what the LORD says: "Stand up, plead your case before the mountains; let the hills hear what you have to say.
2 산악은 야훼의 논고를 들어라. 땅의 주춧돌들은 귀를 기울여라. 야훼께서 당신의 백성을 걸어 논고를 펴신다. 야훼께서 이스라엘의 죄상을 밝히신다.
Hear, O mountains, the LORD'S accusation; listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth. For the LORD has a case against his people; he is lodging a charge against Israel.
3 "내 백성이라는 것들아, 대답해 보아라. 내가 너희를 어떻게 했으며, 너희에게 무슨 못할 일을 했느냐?
"My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me.
4 나는 너희를 에집트에서 이끌어 냈다. 모세와 아론과 미리암을 앞장세워 종살이하던 데서 너희를 해방시켰다. I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam.
6 "높이 계시는 하나님 야훼께 예배를 드리려면, 무엇을 가지고 나가면 됩니까? 번제를 가지고 나가야 합니까? 송아지를 가지고 나가야 합니까?
With what shall I come before the LORD and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
7 수양 몇 천 마리 바치면 야훼께서 기뻐하시겠습니까? 기억하기만 하던 죄를 벗으려면, 맏아들이라도 바쳐야 합니까? 이 죽을 죄를 벗으려면, 이 몸에서 난 자식이라도 바쳐야 합니까?"
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 이 사람아, 야훼께서 무엇을 좋아하시는지, 무엇을 원하시는지 들어서 알지 않느냐? 정의를 실천하는 일, 기꺼이 은덕에 보답하는 일 조심스레 하나님과 함께 살아가는 일, 그 일밖에 무엇이 더 있겠느냐? 그의 이름을 어려워하는 자에게 앞길이 열린다.
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

시편 50:3-9
3 우리 하나님 행차하신다. 조용조용 오시지 않고 삼키는 불길을 앞세우고 돌개바람 거느리고 오신다.
Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.
4 당신 백성을 심판하시려고 위로 하늘을 부르시고 또 땅을 부르시며 이르신다.
He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 "나를 믿는 자들을 불러모아라. 제물을 바치고 나와 계약맺은 자들을 불러 모아라" .
"Gather to me my consecrated ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."
6 하나님께서 재판관이시라. 하늘이 그의 공정하심을 알린다.
And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah
7 "들어라, 내 백성아, 내가 말하리라. 이스라엘아, 내가 너의 죄상을 밝히리라. 나 하나님, 너희의 하나님은
"Hear, O my people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, your God.
8 너희가 바친 제물을 두고 탓하지 않는다. 너희는 거르지 않고 내 앞에 번제를 드렸다.
I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
9 나는 너희 집 소를 앗아가지 않으며, 너희 우리에서 염소를 앗아가지 아니하리라.
I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens,

마태복음 12:38-42
38 그 때에 율법학자와 바리사이파 사람 몇이 예수께 "선생님, 우리에게 기적을 보여 주셨으면 합니다" 하고 말하자 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you."
39 예수께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "악하고 절개 없는 이 세대가 기적을 요구하지만 예언자 요나의 기적밖에는 따로 보여 줄 것이 없다. He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
40 요나가 큰 바다 괴물의 뱃속에서 삼 주야를 지냈던 것같이 사람의아들도 땅 속에서 삼 주야를 보낼 것이다. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 심판 날이 오면 니느웨 사람들이 이 세대와 함께 일어나 이 세대를 단죄할 것이다. 그들은 요나의 설교만 듣고도 회개하였던 것이다. 그런데 여기 요나 보다 더 큰 사람이 있다.
The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.
42 심판 날이 오면 남쪽 나라의 여왕도 이 세대와 함께 일어나 이 세대를 단죄할 것이다. 그는 솔로몬의 지혜를 들으려고 땅 끝에서왔던 것이다. 그러나 여기에 솔로몬보다 더 큰 사람이 있다." The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon's wisdom, and now one greater than Solomon is here.
