사도행전 3:1-10
1 어느 날 베드로와 요한은 오후 세 시 기도하는 시간이 되어 성전으로 올라 가고 있었는데 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer--at three in the afternoon.
2 "아름다운 문" 이라는 성전 문 곁에는 태어날 때부터 앉은뱅이가된 사람 하나가 있었다. 날마다 사람들이 거기에 들어다 놓으면 그는 앉아서 성전으로 들어 가는 사람들에게 구걸을 하는 것이었다.
Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.
3 그는 성전으로 들어 가려는 베드로와 요한을 보고 구걸을 하였다.
When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.
4 베드로는 요한과 함께 그를 눈여겨 보며 "우리를 좀 보시오" 하고말하였다.
Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!"
5 그 앉은뱅이는 무엇을 주려니 하고 두 사도를 쳐다보았다.
So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 그러자 베드로는 "나는 돈이 없습니다. 그러나 내가 줄 수 있는 것은 이것입니다. 나자렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 걸어가시오" 하며
Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."
7 그의 오른 손을 잡아 일으켰다. 그러자 그 앉은뱅이는 당장에 다리와 발목에 힘을 얻어
Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.
8 벌떡 일어나 걷기 시작하였다. 그리고 그들과 함께 성전으로 들어가면서 걷기도 하고 껑충껑충 뛰기도 하며 하나님을 찬양하였다. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
9 사람들은 모두 그가 걸어 다니며 하나님을 찬양하는 것을 보고
When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
10 또 그 사람이 바로 성전의 "아름다운 문" 곁에 앉아 구걸하던 앉은뱅이라는 것을 알고 그에게 일어난 일에 몹시 놀라서 어리둥절해졌다.
they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

시편 105:1-9
1 야훼께 감사하며 그 이름 높이 불러라. 그 장하신 일들을 만방에 알려라.
Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
2 그분께 노래 불러라, 수금 타며 노래 불러 드려라. 놀라운 그 일들을 이야기하여라.
Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
3 그 거룩하신 이름을 자랑하여라. 야훼 찾는 마음에 기쁨 있어라.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
4 야훼를 찾아라, 그의 힘을 빌어라. 잠시도 그의 곁을 떠나지 말아라.
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
5 얼마나 묘한 일들 하셨는지 생각들 하여라. 그의 기적들, 그 입으로 내리신 판단을 명심하여라.
Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
6 그의 종 아브라함의 후손들아, 그가 뽑으신 야곱의 자손들아,
O descendants of Abraham his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.
7 그분이 바로 야훼 우리 하나님, 온 세상을 바로 다스리시는 분이시다.
He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
8 계약을 맺으시며 만대에 내리신 말씀 영원히 잊지 아니하신다.
He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations,
9 아브라함과 맺으신 계약, 이사악과 맹세하셨다.
the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

루가복음 24:13-35
13 바로 그 날 거기 모였던 사람들 중 두 사람이 예루살렘에서 한 삼십 리쯤 떨어진 곳에 있는 엠마오라는 동네로 걸어 가면서 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.
14 이 즈음에 일어난 모든 사건에 대하여 말을 주고 받고 있었다.
They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.
15 그들이 이야기를 나누며 토론하고 있을 때에 예수께서 그들에게 다가 가서 나란히 걸어 가셨다.
As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;
16 그러나 그들은 눈이 가리워져서 그분이 누구신지 알아 보지 못하였다.
but they were kept from recognizing him.
17 예수께서 그들에게 "길을 걸으면서 무슨 이야기들을 그렇게 하고 있느냐?" 하고 물으셨다. 그러자 그들은 침통한 표정인 채 걸음을멈추었다. He asked them, "What are you discussing together as you walk along?" They stood still, their faces downcast.
18 그리고 글레오파라는 사람이 "예루살렘에 머물러 있던 사람으로서요새 며칠 동안에 거기에서 일어난 일을 모르다니, 그런 사람이 당신 말고 어디 또 있겠습니까?" 하고 말하였다.
One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, "Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?"
19 예수께서 "무슨 일이냐?" 하고 물으시자 그들은 이렇게 설명하였다. "나자렛 사람 예수에 관한 일이오. 그분은 하나님과 모든 백성들 앞에서 그 하신 일과 말씀에 큰 능력을 보이신 예언자였습니다.
"What things?" he asked. "About Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.
20 그런데 대사제들과 우리 백성의 지도자들이 그분을 관헌에게 넘겨사형선고를 받아 십자가형을 당하게 하였습니다.
The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him;
21 우리는 그분이야말로 이스라엘을 구원해 주실 분이라고 희망을 걸고 있었습니다. 그러나 그분은 이미 처형을 당하셨고, 더구나 그 일이 있은 지도 벌써 사흘째나 됩니다.
but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.
22 그런데 우리 가운데 몇몇 여인이 우리를 깜짝 놀라게 하였습니다.그들이 새벽에 무덤을 찾아 가 보았더니 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning
23 그분의 시체가 없어졌더랍니다. 그뿐만 아니라 천사들이 나타나 그분은 살아 계시다고 일러 주더라는 것이었습니다. but didn't find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.
24 그래서 우리 동료 몇 사람이 무덤에 가 보았으나 과연 그 여자들의 말대로였고 그분은 보지 못했습니다." Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see."
25 그 때에 예수께서 "너희는 어리석기도 하다! 예언자들이 말한 모든 것을 그렇게도 믿기가 어려우냐?
He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
26 그리스도의 영광을 차지하기 전에 그런 고난을 겪어야 하는 것이 아니냐?"
Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?"
27 하시며 모세의 율법서와 모든 예언서를 비롯하여 성서 전체에서 당신에 관한 기사를 들어 설명해 주셨다. And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
28 그들이 찾아 가던 동네에 거의 다다랐을 때에 예수께서 더 멀리 가시려는 듯이 보이자
As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going farther.
29 그들은 "이젠 날도 저물어 저녁이 다 되었으니 여기서 우리와 함께 묵어 가십시오" 하고 붙들었다. 그래서 예수께서 그들과 함께 묵으시려고 집으로 들어 가셨다. But they urged him strongly, "Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over." So he went in to stay with them.
30 예수께서 함께 식탁에 앉아 빵을 들어 감사의 기도를 드리신 다음그것을 떼어 나누어 주셨다. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them.
31 그제서야 그들은 눈이 열려 예수를 알아 보았는데 예수의 모습은 이미 사라져서 보이지 않았다.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.
32 그들은 "길에서 그분이 우리에게 말씀하실 때나 성서를 설명해 주실 때에 우리가 얼마나 뜨거운 감동을 느꼈던가!" 하고 서로 말하였다. They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"
33 그들은 곧 그 곳을 떠나 예루살렘으로 돌아 갔다. 가 보았더니 거기에 열 한 제자가 다른 사람들과 함께 모여서 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together
34 주께서 확실히 다시 살아나셔서 시몬에게 나타나셨다는 말을 하고있었다.
and saying, "It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon."
35 그 두 사람도 길에서 당한 일과 빵을 떼어 주실 때에야 비로소 그분이 예수시라는 것을 알아 보게 되었다는 이야기를 들려 주었다. Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.
