이사야 43:18-25
18 "지나간 일을 생각하지 말라. 흘러 간 일에 마음을 묶어 두지 말라.
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
19 보아라, 내가 이제 새 일을 시작하였다. 이미 싹이 돋았는데 그것이 보이지 않느냐? 내가 사막에 큰 길을 내리라. 광야에 한길들을 트리라.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
20 사막에 물을 대어 주고 광야에 물줄기를 끌어들이리니, 뽑아 세운 내 백성이 양껏 마시고 승냥이와 타조 같은 들짐승들이 나를 공경하리라.
The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,
21 내가 친히 손으로 빚은 나의 백성이 나를 찬양하고 기리리라.
the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
22 야곱아, 너는 나를 찾지 않았다. 이스라엘아, 너는 나에게 정성을 쏟지 않았다.
"Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel.
23 너는 양을 번제로 바치지도 않았고 제물을 드려 나를 섬기지도 않았다. 내가 언제 너에게 봉헌물을 바치라고 성화를 대었느냐? 향을 피우라고 괴롭혔느냐?
You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.
24 너는 갈대향을 바치는 데 돈 쓰는 것을 아까와하였고 제물의 기름기를 흡족히 바칠 생각도 없었다. 도리어 너는 죄를 지어 나의 화를 돋구었고 불의를 저질러 나의 속을 썩였다.
You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.
25 네 죄악을 씻어 내 위신을 세워야겠다. 이 일을 나밖에 누가 하겠느냐? 너의 죄를 나의 기억에서 말끔히 씻어 버리리라. "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

시편 41 (For the director of music. A psalm of David.)
1 복되어라, 딱하고 가난한 사람 알아주는 이여, 불행한 날에 야훼께서 그를 구해 주시리라.
Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.
2 그를 지켜 주시고 생명을 주시고 땅 위에서 복을 주시며 원수들에게 먹히지 않게 하시리라.
The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.
3 병상에서 그를 붙들어 주시리니 자리를 떨쳐 일어나게 되리라.
The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness.
4 내가 드릴 말씀은 이 한 마디, "야훼여, 나를 불쌍히 여기소서. 나를 고쳐 주소서. 당신께 죄를 지었사옵니다". I said, "O LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you."
5 원수들은 나를 보고 "저자가 언제 죽어서 그 이름이 없어질꼬?" 하며
My enemies say of me in malice, "When will he die and his name perish?"
6 찾아 와서는 속에도 없는 소리를 하고 험담할 꼬투리를 찾아 나가는 길로 떠들어 댑니다.
Whenever one comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it abroad.
7 모두들 내가 미워서 입을 모아 수군대며 나의 불행을 궁리하여 나를 해칠 양으로
All my enemies whisper together against me; they imagine the worst for me, saying,
8 "죽을 살이 뻗쳤구나 병들어 영영 일어나지 못하리라" 합니다.
"A vile disease has beset him; he will never get up from the place where he lies."
9 흉허물없이 사귀던 친구마저 내 빵을 먹던 벗들마저 우쭐대며 뒷발질을 합니다.
Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
10 야훼여, 나를 불쌍히 여기소서, 일으켜 주소서. 나 저들에게 앙갚음 하리이다.
But you, O LORD, have mercy on me; raise me up, that I may repay them.
11 원수들이 내 앞에서 큰소리치지 못하게 되면 내가 당신의 눈밖에 나지 않은 줄을 알리이다.
I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me.
12 나를 몸 성하게 붙들어 주시고 당신을 길이 모시게 하소서.
In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever.
13 이스라엘의 하나님이신 야훼여, 찬미받으소서. 처음도 끝도 없이 영원히. 아멘, 아멘.
Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.

2고린도 1:18-22
18 내가 하나님의 진실성을 걸고 맹세하거니와 여러분에게 한 내 약속은 이랬다 저랬다 하지 않습니다. But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No."
19 그리고 실바노와 디모테오와 내가 여러분에게 선포한 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도는 이랬다 저랬다 하시는 분이 아닙니다. 그리스도에게는 언제나 진실이 있을 따름입니다.
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes."
20 하나님의 모든 약속이 그리스도를 통해서 그대로 이루어졌기 때문입니다. 그래서 우리는 그리스도를 통해서 하나님을 찬양하며"아멘" 하고 응답합니다.
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
21 그리스도를 통해서 여러분과 우리를 굳세게 해 주시고 우리에게 기름을 부어 사명을 맡겨 주신 분은 하나님이십니다.
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,
22 하나님께서는 우리를 당신의 사람으로 확인해 주셨고 그것을 보증하는 표로 우리의 마음에 성령을 보내 주셨습니다. set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
(23 내가 고린토에 가지 않기로 작정한 것은 여러분을 아끼기 때문이었습니다. 여기에 대해서는 내 마음을 잘 아시는 하나님께서 내 증인이 되어 주실 것입니다.
I call God as my witness that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth.
24 여러분의 믿음은 이미 굳건해졌으니 우리가 여러분의 신앙생활을 지배하려는 것은 아닙니다. 우리는 다만 여러분의 행복을 위해서 여러분과 함께 일할 따름입니다. Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.)

마르코복음 2:1-12
1 며칠 뒤에 예수께서는 다시 가파르나움으로 가셨다. 예수께서 집에 계시다는 말이 퍼지자
A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.
2 많은 사람이 모여 들어 마침내 문 앞에까지 빈틈없이 들어 섰다. 그리고 예수께서는 그들에게 하나님의 말씀을 전하고 계셨다. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.
3 그 때 어떤 중풍병자를 네 사람이 들고 왔다.
Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.
4 그러나 사람들이 너무 많아 예수께 가까이 데려 갈 수가 없었다. 그래서 예수가 계신 바로 위의 지붕을 벗겨 구멍을 내고 중풍병자를 요에 눕힌 채 예수 앞에 달아 내려 보냈다.
Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.
5 예수께서는 그들의 믿음을 보시고 중풍병자에게 "너는 죄를 용서받았다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
6 거기 앉아 있던 율법학자 몇 사람이 속으로
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,
7 "이 사람이 어떻게 감히 이런 말을 하여 하나님을 모독하는가? 하나님 말고 누가 죄를 용서할 수 있단 말인가?" 하며 중얼거렸다.
"Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
8 예수께서 그들의 생각을 알아 채시고 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "어찌하여 너희는 그런 생각을 품고 있느냐?
Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things?
9 중풍병자에게 '너는 죄를 용서받았다' 하는 것과 '일어나 네 요를걷어 가지고 걸어 가거라' 하는 것과 어느 편이 더 쉽겠느냐? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'?
10 이제 땅에서 죄를 용서하는 권한이 사람의 아들에게 있다는 것을 보여 주겠다." 그리고 나서 중풍병자에게 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . ." He said to the paralytic,
11 "내가 말하는 대로 하여라. 일어나 요를 걷어 가지고 집으로 가거라" 하고 말씀하셨다.
"I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."
12 중풍병자는 사람들이 보는 앞에서 벌떡 일어나 곧 요를 걷어 가지고 나갔다. 그러자 모두들 몹시 놀라서 "이런 일은 정말 처음보는 일이다" 하며 하나님을 찬양하였다. 예수께서 다시 호숫가로나가셨다.
He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
