열왕상 11:29-32, 12:19
29 한번은 여로보암이 예루살렘에서 나가다가 실로 출신의 예언자 아히야를 길에서 만났다. 그 예언자는 말쑥한 새 옷을 입고 있었다. 들에서 단둘이 있게 되자
About that time Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, and Ahijah the prophet of Shiloh met him on the way, wearing a new cloak. The two of them were alone out in the country,
30 아히야는 자기가 입고 있던 새 옷을 벗어서 열 두 조각으로 찢었다.
and Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve pieces.
31 그러면서 여로보암에게 이렇게 말하는 것이었다. "이 열 조각을 맡으십시오. 이것은 이스라엘의 하나님 야훼께서 하시는 말씀이십니다. '잘 들어라. 내가 솔로몬의 손안에 있는 이 나라를 찢어 너에게 열 지파를 주리라.
Then he said to Jeroboam, "Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'See, I am going to tear the kingdom out of Solomon's hand and give you ten tribes.
32 그러나 한 지파만은 솔로몬에게 주어 내 종 다윗의 뒤를 이어 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데 내가 지정한 성읍인 예루살렘에서 다스리게 하리라. But for the sake of my servant David and the city of Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, he will have one tribe.
12 : 19 이렇게 이스라엘은 다윗 왕조에 반역하여 오늘에 이르렀다.
So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

시편 81:8-14
8 백성들아, 내가 타이르는 말을 들어라. 이스라엘아, 정녕 나의 말을 들어라.
"Hear, O my people, and I will warn you--if you would but listen to me, O Israel!
9 '너희는 다른 신을 모시지 말라. 이교도의 신을 예배하지 말라.
You shall have no foreign god among you; you shall not bow down to an alien god.
10 너희 하나님은 너희를 에집트에서 이끌어 낸 나 야훼다. 다만 입을 크게 벌려라, 내가 채워 주리라.'
I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
11 그러나 내 백성은 나의 말을 듣지 않았고 이스라엘은 나의 뜻을 따르지 아니하였다.
"But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me.
12 그러므로 나는 그들의 마음을 굳은 대로 버려 두어 저 하고 싶은 대로 하게 하였다.
So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.
13 아, 나의 백성아, 제발 내 말을 들어다오. 이스라엘아, 나의 뜻을 따라 걸어다오.
"If my people would but listen to me, if Israel would follow my ways,
14 나 당장 너희 원수들을 쳐부수리라. 나 당장 너희 압제자들에게 손을 대리라.
how quickly would I subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes!

마르코복음 7:31-37
31 그 뒤 예수께서는 띠로 지방을 떠나 시돈에 들르셨다가 데카폴리스 지방을 거쳐 갈릴래아 호수로 돌아 오셨다. Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis.
32 그 때에 사람들이 귀먹은 반벙어리를 예수께 데리고 와서 그에게 손을 얹어 주시기를 청하였다.
There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man.
33 예수께서는 그 사람을 군중 사이에서 따로 불러내어 손가락을 그의 귓 속에 넣으셨다가 침을 발라 그의 혀에 대시고 After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue.
34 하늘을 우러러 한숨을 내쉰 다음 "에파타" 하고 말씀하셨다. "열려라" 라는 뜻이었다.
He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!").
35 그러자 그는 귀가 열리고 혀가 풀려서 말을 제대로 하게 되었다.
At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.
36 예수께서는 이 일을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 엄하게 이르셨으나 그럴수록 사람들은 더욱 더 널리 소문을 퍼뜨렸다. Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it.
37 사람들은 "귀머거리를 듣게 하시고 벙어리도 말을 하게 하시니 그분이 하시는 일은 놀랍기만 하구나" 하며 경탄하여 마지않았다. People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."
