사무엘상 16:1-13
1 야훼께서 사무엘에게 말씀하셨다. "내가 사울을 이스라엘 왕의 자리에서 파면시켰다고 해서 너는 언제까지 이렇게 슬퍼만 하고 있을 셈이냐? 기름을 뿔에 채워 가지고 길을 떠나거라. 내가 너를베들레헴에 사는 이새라는 사람에게로 보낸다. 그의 아들 가운데서 내가 왕으로 세울 사람을 하나 보아 두었다." The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king."
2 사무엘이 "사울이 알면 저를 죽일 텐데 어떻게 갑니까?" 하고 여쭙자 야훼께서는, "암송아지 한 마리를 끌고 가거라. 야훼께 제사를 드리러 왔다고 하면서
But Samuel said, "How can I go? Saul will hear about it and kill me." The LORD said, "Take a heifer with you and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.'
3 이새를 제사에 초청하여라. 그러면 네가 할 일을 내가 알려 주리라. 너는 내가 지적하여 일러주는 자에게 기름을 부어 그를 성별시켜 나에게 바쳐라" 하고 이르셨다. Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate."
4 사무엘은 야훼께서 이르시는 대로 하였다. 그가 베들레헴에 다다르자 그 성읍의 장로들은 안절부절못하고 그를 맞으며 "언짢은 일로 오신 것은 아니겠지요?" 하고 물었다.
Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, "Do you come in peace?"
5 "아니오 좋은 일로 왔소. 야훼께 제사를 드리러 온 것이오. 그러니 모두들 목욕재개하고 함께 제사드리러 갑시다." 이렇게 일러 놓고 사무엘은 이새와 그의 아들들을 목욕 재개시킨 다음 제사에 나오라고 초청하였다. Samuel replied, "Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me." Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 그들이 나타나자 사무엘은 엘리압을 보고 속으로 "바로 여기 야훼께서 기름부어 성별하실 자가 있구나" 하고 생각하였다. When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD'S anointed stands here before the LORD."
7 그러나 야훼께서는 사무엘에게 "용모나 신장을 보지는 말라. 그는이미 내 눈밖에 났다. 하나님은 사람들처럼 보지 않는다. 사람들은 겉모양을 보지만 나 야훼는 속마음을 들여다 본다" 하고이르셨다.
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
8 다음으로 이새는 아비나답을 불러 사무엘 앞에 나와 서게 하였다. 그러나 사무엘은 "이 아들도 야훼께서 뽑으신 아들이 아니오" 라고 하였다. Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, "The LORD has not chosen this one either."
9 이새가 다시 삼마를 보여 드렸지만, 사무엘은 그도 야훼께서 뽑으신 아들이 아니라고 하였다.
Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, "Nor has the LORD chosen this one."
10 이렇게 이새가 아들 일곱을 사무엘 앞에 나와 뵙게 하였다. 그러나 사무엘은 "이 아들 가운데는 야훼께서 뽑으신 아들이 없소" 하고 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, "The LORD has not chosen these."
11 이새에게 그 밖에 아들은 또 없느냐고 물었다. 이새가 "막내가 또있긴 하지만 지금 양을 치고 있습니다" 하고 대답하자, 사무엘이 이새에게 "사람을 보내 데려 오시오. 그가 올 때까지 우리는 식탁에 앉을 수가 없소" 하고
So he asked Jesse, "Are these all the sons you have?" "There is still the youngest," Jesse answered, "but he is tending the sheep." Samuel said, "Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives."
12 이새가 사람을 보내어 데려 온 그는 볼이 붉고 눈이 반짝이는 잘생긴 아이였다. 야훼께서 말씀을 내리셨다. "바로 이 아이다, 어서 이 아이에게 기름을 부어라."
So he sent and had him brought in. He was ruddy, with a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, "Rise and anoint him; he is the one."
13 그리하여 사무엘은 기름 채운 뿔을 집어 들고 형들이 보는 앞에서 그에게 기름을 부었다. 그러자 야훼의 영이 다윗에게 내려 그 날부터 줄곧 그에게 머물러 있었다. 사무엘은 길을 떠나 라마로 갔다.
So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah.

19 그 옛날, 당신께서 스스로 나타나시어 당신의 성도들에게 말씀하셨습니다. "나는 내 백성의 막내둥이를 들어 높이고 그 용사에게 면류관을 씌워 주었다.
Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: "I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have exalted a young man from among the people.
20 나는 나의 종 다윗을 찾아내어 나의 거룩한 기름을 부어 주었다.
I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.
21 내가 손으로 그를 돕겠고 내 팔로 그를 강하게 하리니
My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.
22 원수가 그를 당해 내지 못하고 간악한 자도 그를 괴롭히지 못하리라.
No enemy will subject him to tribute; no wicked man will oppress him.
23 내가 그의 면전에서 그의 적들을 짓부수고 그 원수들을 쳐부수리라.
I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.
24 나의 진실과 사랑이 그이 곁에 있으리니 그가 내 이름으로 뿔을 높이 들리라.
My faithful love will be with him, and through my name his horn will be exalted.
25 그의 손을 바다 위에 뻗치게 하고 그 오른손을 강에까지 뻗게 하리니
I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.
26 그는 나를 불러, '당신은 나의 아버지, 나의 하나님, 내 구원의 바위이십니다' 하겠고
He will call out to me, 'You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.'
27 나는 그를 맏아들로 삼아 세상 임금 중에 가장 높은 임금으로 세우리라.
I will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.

마르코복음 2:23-28  
23 어느 안식일에 예수께서 밀밭 사이를 지나가시게 되었다. 그 때함께 가던 제자들이 밀이삭을 자르기 시작하자 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.
24 바리사이파 사람들이 예수께 "보십시오, 왜 저 사람들이 안식일에 해서는 안 될 일을 하고 있습니까?" 하고 물었다.
The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"
25 예수께서는 이렇게 반문하셨다. "너희는 다윗의 일행이 먹을 것이 없어서 굶주렸을 때에 다윗이 한 일을 읽어 본 적이 없느냐? He answered, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?
26 에비아달 대사제 때에 다윗은 하나님의 집에 들어가서 제단에 차려 놓은 빵을 먹고 함께 있던 사람들에게도 주었다. 그 빵은 사제들밖에는 아무도 먹을 수 없는 빵이 아니었더냐?"
In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions."
27 예수께서는 이어서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "안식일이 사람을 위하여있는 것이지, 사람이 안식일을 위하여 있는 것은 아니다.
Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
28 따라서 사람의 아들은 또한 안식일의 주인이다."
So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

오늘의 기도
사람의 겉모양을 보시지 않고 속 마음을 보시는 하느님! 내게서 당신의 영을 거두워가지 마시고 줄곧 머무르소서. 당신의 거룩한 기름을 부어주시고 당신의 손으로 도우시고 당신의 팔로 나를 강하게 하소서. 당신의 진실과 사랑이 항상 제 곁에 있어 내가 당신 이름으로 뿔을 높이 들게하소서.
언제 어디서나 당신은 나의 아버지, 나의 하느님, 내 구원의 바위라고 외치게 하시고 안식일의 주인이신 당신만을 영원히 섬기게 하소서. 아멘
