사도행전 20:28-38
28 여러분은 늘 자신을 살피며 성령께서 맡겨 주신 양떼들을 잘 돌보시오. 성령께서는 여러분을 감독으로 세우셔서 하나님께서 당신 아드님의 피로 값을 치르고 얻으신 당신의 교회를 보살피게 하셨습니다. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
29 내가 떠나가면 사나운 이리떼가 여러분 가운데 들어 와 양떼를 마구 헤칠 것이며
I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
30 여러분 가운데서도 진리를 그르치는 말을 하며 신도들을 이탈시켜 자기를 따르라고 할 사람들이 생겨날 것은 분명합니다. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
31 그러므로 여러분은 언제나 깨어 있으시오. 그리고 내가 삼 년 동안이나 밤낮으로 눈물을 흘리며 각 사람에게 쉬지 않고 훈계하던 것을 잊지 마시오. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.
32 나는 이제 하나님과 그의 은총의 말씀에 여러분을 맡깁니다. 그 말씀은 여러분을 완전한 사람으로 키울 수 있으며 모든 성도들과 함께 유산을 차지하게 할 수 있습니다.
"Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
33 나는 누구의 은이나 금이나 옷을 탐낸 일이 없습니다.
I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing.
34 여러분도 알다시피 나와 내 일행에게 필요한 것은 모두 나의 이 두손으로 일해서 장만하였습니다.
You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions.
35 나는 여러분도 이렇게 수고하여 약한 사람들을 도와 주고 또 '주는 것이 받는 것보다 더 행복하다' 고 하신 주 예수의 말씀을 명심하도록 언제나 본을 보여 왔습니다."
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
36 바울로는 이 말을 마치고 그들과 함께 무릎을 꿇고 기도를 드렸다.
When he had said this, he knelt down with all of them and prayed.
37 그들은 모두 많이 울었으며 바울로의 목을 끌어안고 입을 맞추었다.
They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him.
38 그들을 가장 마음 아프게 한 것은 다시는 자기 얼굴을 보지 못하리라고 한 바울로의 말이었다. 그들은 바울로를 배에까지 전송하였다. What grieved them most was his statement that they would never see his face again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

시편 68:28-29, 32-35
28 예루살렘에 우뚝 솟은 당신의 궁전, 거기에서 우리를 도우려 뻗으시던 힘, 하나님이여, 그 힘을 떨치시어 세상의 왕들이 예물을 바치러 오게 하소서.
Summon your power, O God; show us your strength, O God, as you have done before.
29 (28절에 포함되어 있음) Because of your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring you gifts.
32 세상의 왕국들아, 하나님을 찬송하여라. 수금 타며 주를 찬양하여라.
Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord, Selah
33 병거를 타고 하늘을, 오랜 하늘을 달리시던 이, 그 하나님의 힘찬 고함 소리가 들리지 않느냐?
to him who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders with mighty voice.
34 하나님은 강하시다, 찬양하여라. 그의 영광 이스라엘 위에 높이 떨치고 그의 힘 구름 위에 힘껏 뻗는다.
Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the skies.
35 두려워라, 당신의 성소에서 나오시는 하나님, 이스라엘의 하나님, 당신의 백성에게 크신 힘을 주시니, 하나님, 찬미받으소서. You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

요한복음 17:11-19
11 나는 이제 세상을 떠나 아버지께 돌아가지만 이 사람들은 세상에 남아 있을 것입니다. 거룩하신 아버지, 나에게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 이 사람들을 지켜 주십시오. 그리고 아버지와 내가 하나인 것처럼 이 사람들도 하나가 되게 하여 주십시오. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one.
12 내가 이 사람들과 함께 있을 때에는 나에게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 내가 이 사람들을 지켰습니다. 그 동안에 오직 멸망할 운명에 놓인 자를 제외하고는 하나도 잃지 않았습니다. 하나를 잃은 것은 성경 말씀이 이루어지기 위한 것이었습니다.
While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 지금 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 아직 세상에 있으면서 이 말씀을 드리는 것은 이 사람들이 내 기쁨을 마음껏 누리게 하려는 것입니다. "I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
14 나는 이 사람들에게 아버지의 말씀을 전해 주었는데 세상은 이 사람들을 미워했습니다. 그것은 내가 이 세상에 속해 있지 않은 것처럼 이 사람들도 이 세상에 속해 있지 않기 때문입니다.
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
15 내가 아버지께 원하는 것은 그들을 이 세상에서 데려 가시는 것이 아니라 악마에게서 지켜 주시는 일입니다.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
16 내가 이 세상에 속하지 않은 것처럼 이 사람들도 이 세상에 속한 사람들이 아닙니다.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
17 이 사람들이 진리를 위하여 몸을 바치는 사람이 되게 하여 주십시오. 아버지의 말씀이 곧 진리입니다. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
18 아버지께서 나를 세상에 보내신 것같이 나도 이 사람들을 세상에 보냈습니다.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
19 내가 이 사람들을 위하여 이 몸을 아버지께 바치는 것은 이 사람들도 참으로 아버지께 자기 몸을 바치게 하려는 것입니다."
For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
