사도행전 18:23-28
23 바울로는 거기에서 얼마 동안 지낸 뒤 다시 길을 떠나 갈라디아 지방과 프리기아 지방을 차례로 돌아다니며 모든 신도들을 격려하였다.
After spending some time in Antioch, Paul set out from there and traveled from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.
24 한편 에페소에는 아폴로라는 유다인이 와 있었는데 그는 알렉산드리아 출신으로 구변이 좋고 성서에 정통한 사람이었다. Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures.
25 그는 요한의 세례밖에 알지 못했으나 이미 주님의 가르침을 배워 잘 알고 있을 뿐 아니라 열성을 다하여 전도하며, 예수에 관한 일들을 정확하게 가르치고 있었다.
He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John.
26 그가 회당에서 담대하게 전도하는 것을 들은 브리스킬라와 아퀼라는 그를 집으로 데리고 가서 하나님의 가르침을 더 자세히 설명해 주었다.
He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
27 에페소의 교우들은 아폴로가 아카이아로 건너가고 싶어하는 것을 알고 그를 격려하며 아카이아의 신도들에게 그를 환영해 달라는 편지를 써 보냈다. 아폴로는 아카이아에 도착하여 이미 하나님의 은총으로 신도가 된 사람들에게 큰 도움을 주었다.
When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.
28 그가 성서를 근거로 하여 예수가 그리스도임을 떳떳하게 증명하여 유다인들을 여지없이 논박했기 때문이다. For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

시편 47:1-2, 7-9
1 너희 만백성아, 손뼉을 쳐라, 기쁜 소리 드높이 하나님께 환호하여라.
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
2 야훼는 지존하시고 지엄하시다. 온 누리의 크신 임금이시다.
How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!
(3 우리 앞에 만민을 무릎 꿇리시고 뭇 민족을 우리 발 아래 두셨다.
He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.
4 당신의 사랑, 야곱의 자랑거리, 이 땅을 우리에게 손수 골라 주셨다.
He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. Selah
5 환호 소리 높은 중에 하나님, 오르신다. 나팔 소리나는 중에 야훼, 올라가신다.
God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets.
6 찬미하여라 하나님을, 거룩한 시로 찬미하여라. 찬양하여라 우리 왕을, 거룩한 시로 찬양하여라.
Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.)
7 하나님은 온 땅의 임금이시니, 멋진 가락에 맞추어 찬양하여라.
For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.
8 하나님은 만방의 왕, 거룩한 옥좌에 앉으셨다.
God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.
9 세상의 통치자들을 한 손에 잡고, 끝없이 높으신 우리 하나님, 아브라함의 하나님, 그 백성과 더불어 뭇 나라의 영수들이 모여든다.
The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.

요한복음 16:23-28
23 그 날이 오면 너희가 나에게 물을 것이 하나도 없을 것이다. 정말 잘 들어 두어라. 너희가 내 이름으로 아버지께 구하는 것이면 아버지께서 무엇이든지 주실 것이다.
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
24 지금까지 너희는 내 이름으로 아무것도 구해 본 적이 없다. 구하여라. 받을 것이다. 너희는 기쁨에 넘칠 것이다." Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
25 "내가 지금까지는 이 모든 것을 비유로 들려주었지만 이제 아버지에 관하여 비유를 쓰지 않고 명백히 일러 줄 때가 올 것이다.
"Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father.
26 그 날이 오면 너희는 내 이름으로 아버지께 구할 것이다. 따라서 내가 너희를 위하여 따로 아버지께 구하지 않겠다는 말이다.
In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.
27 너희는 이미 나를 사랑하고 또 내가 아버지께로부터 왔다는 것을 믿고 있다. 그래서 아버지께서는 친히 너희를 사랑하시는 것이다. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
28 나는 아버지께로부터 나와서 세상에 왔다가 이제 세상을 떠나 다시 아버지께 돌아간다."
I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father."
