예레미야 20:10-13
10 사람들이 모여서 수군거립니다. '저자야말로 사면초가다. 고발하자, 고발하자.' 저와 가까이 지내던 사람들도 모두 제가 망하기를 바라 모의합니다. '걸어 넘어뜨리고 잡아 족치자. 앙갚음을 하자'
I hear many whispering, "Terror on every side! Report him! Let's report him!" All my friends are waiting for me to slip, saying, "Perhaps he will be deceived; then we will prevail over him and take our revenge on him."
11 그러나 제 곁에는 힘센 장사처럼 야훼께서 계시기에 저를 박해하다가는 당하지 못하고 나가 떨어질 것입니다. 뜻을 이루지 못하여 부끄러움으로 머리도 들지 못하고 길이길이 잊지 못할 수치를 당할 것입니다. But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
12 만군의 야훼여, 사람의 뱃속을 아시고 심장을 꿰뚫어 보시는 공정한 감시자여, 저들을 고소하는 이유를 밝히 말씀드렸사오니, 이제 이 백성에게 제 원수를 갚아 주십시오. 이 눈으로 그것을 보아야겠습니다." O LORD Almighty, you who examine the righteous and probe the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance upon them, for to you I have committed my cause.
13 야훼께 노래를 불러 드려라. 야훼를 찬양하여라. 야훼께서는 가난한 사람을 악당들의 손에서 빼내 주시는 분이시다. Sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.

시편 18:1-6
1 나의 힘이신 야훼여! 당신을 사랑합니다.
For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: I love you, O LORD, my strength.
2 야훼는 나의 반석, 나의 요새, 나를 구원하시는 이, 나의 하나님,내가 숨을 바위, 나의 방패, 승리를 안겨 주는 뿔 나의 산채, 나의 피난처, 포악한 자들의 손에서 이 몸 건져 주셨으니
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 찬양을 받으실 분이라. 내가 야훼께 부르짖었더니 나를 원수의 손에서 건져 주셨다.
I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.
4 죽음의 물결에 휩싸이고 멸망의 물살에 휩쓸려 겁에 질리고
The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
5 포승에 묶여 저승으로 가고 올가미에 걸려 죽을
The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.
6 다급한 때에 야훼께 부르짖었더니 당신의 전에서 내 소리를 들어 주셨다. 나 하나님께 외쳤더니 울부짖는 소리가 그의 귀에 다다랐구나.
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

요한복음 10:31-42
31 이 때에 유다인들은 다시 돌을 집어 예수께 던지려고 하였다.
Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,
32 그래서 예수께서는 그들에게 "내가 아버지께서 맡겨 주신 좋은 일들을 많이 보여 주었는데 그 중에서 어떤 것이 못마땅해서 돌을 들어 치려는 것이냐?" 하고 말씀하셨다.
but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"
33 유다인들은 "당신이 좋은 일을 했는데 우리가 왜 돌을 들겠소? 당신이 하나님을 모독했으니까 그러는 것이오. 당신은 한갓 사람이면서 하나님 행세를 하고 있지 않소?" 하고 대들었다.
"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."
34 예수께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "너희의 율법서를 보면 하나님께서 '내가 너희를 신이라 불렀다' 하신 기록이 있지 않느냐?
Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'?
35 이렇게 성서에서는 하나님의 말씀을 받은 사람들을 모두 신이라 불렀다. 성경 말씀은 영원히 참되시다.
If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came--and the Scripture cannot be broken--
36 아버지께서는 나에게 거룩한 일을 맡겨 세상에 보내 주셨다. 너희는 내가 하나님의 아들이라고 한 말 때문에 하나님을 모독한다고 하느냐?
what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?
37 내가 아버지의 일을 하지 않고 있다면 나를 믿지 않아도 좋다.
Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does.
38 그러나 내가 그 일을 하고 있으니 나를 믿지 않더라도 내가 하는 일만은 믿어야 할 것이 아니냐? 그러면 너희는 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 또 내가 아버지 안에 있다는 것을 확실하게 알게 될 것이다." But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."
39 그 때에 유다인들이 다시금 예수를 붙잡으려고 했으나 예수께서는 그들의 손에서 벗어나 몸을 피하셨다.
Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp.
40 예수께서는 다시 요한이 전에 세례를 베풀던 요르단강 건너편으로 가시어 거기에 머무르셨다.
Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. Here he stayed
41 그 때 많은 사람들이 예수께 몰려 와서 서로 "요한은 기적을 보여주지 못했지만 그가 이 사람에 관해서 한 말은 모두 사실이었다" 고 하면서
and many people came to him. They said, "Though John never performed a miraculous sign, all that John said about this man was true."
42 많은 사람이 거기에서 예수를 믿게 되었다.
And in that place many believed in Jesus.
