히브리서 6:10-20
10 하나님은 불의한 분이 아니시므로 여러분이 지금까지 성도들에게 봉사해 왔고 아직도 봉사하면서 당신의 이름을 위해서 보여 준 선행과 사랑을 결코 있지 않으십니다.
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
11 우리는 여러분 각 사람이 희망을 성취하기까지 끝내 같은 열성을 보여 주기를 바랍니다.
We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.
12 게으른 자가 되지 말고 믿음과 인내로써 하나님께서 약속해 주신 것을 상속받는 사람들을 본받으십시오. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
13 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 약속을 하실 때에 당신보다 더 위대한 분이 없었으므로 당신 자신을 두고 맹세하시며 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,
14 "반드시 내가 너에게 복을 주고 너의 후손을 번성하게 하겠다" 고 말씀하셨습니다.
saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants."
15 과연 아브라함은 끈기 있게 기다려서 하나님께서 약속하신 것을 받았습니다.
And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
16 사람들이 맹세할 때에는 자기보다 더 위대한 분의 이름을 끌어댑니다. 그 맹세는 모든 논쟁을 그치게 하는 보증이 되는 것입니다. Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.
17 하나님께서도 약속하신 것을 이어받을 사람들에게 당신의 계획이 변하지 않는다는 것을 분명히 보여 주시려고 맹세로써 보증하셨습니다.
Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.
18 하나님은 거짓말을 하실 수 없는 분이시므로 그분의 약속과 맹세는 변하지 않습니다. 따라서 그 하나님을 피난처로 삼은 우리는 큰 용기를 얻어 우리 앞에 놓인 희망을 굳게 붙잡을 수 있습니다.
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.
19 이 희망은 닻과 같아서 우리의 영혼을 안전하고 든든하게 보호해 주며 하늘 성전의 지성소에까지 들어가게 해 줍니다. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
20 예수께서는 멜기세덱의 사제직분을 따라 영원한 대사제가 되셔서 우리보다 앞서 그 곳에 들어 가셨습니다. where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

시편 111
1 할렐루야. 정직한 이들이 많이 모인 자리에서 내 마음 다 쏟아 야훼께 감사하리라.
Praise the LORD. I will extol the LORD with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
2 야훼께서 하시는 일들이 하도 장하시어 그 일들을 좋아하는 사람 모두가 알고 싶어한다.
Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 그 하신 일 영광스럽고 찬란하여 그 정의는 영원히 남으리라.
Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.
4 그 놀라운 일들을 기념토록 남기셨으니, 야훼는 자비롭고 인자하시다.
He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
5 내려 주신 계약을 길이 잊지 아니하시고 당신을 경외하는 자에게 먹을 것을 주신다.
He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.
6 뭇 민족의 땅을 유산으로 주시어 그 위력을 당신 백성에게 보여 주신다.
He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations.
7 하시는 일은 정의와 진리, 그 모든 법은 진실, 그것이니
The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.
8 영원히 흔들리지 않도록 진실하고 올바르게 제정되었다.
They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 속전을 내어 당신 백성을 구해 내시고 영원히 지킬 계약을 맺으셨으니, 그의 이름 두렵고도 거룩하여라. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever--holy and awesome is his name.
10 야훼를 경외하는 것이 지혜의 근원이요 그대로 사는 사람이 슬기를 깨친 사람이다. 주님 찬송 영원히 울려라. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

마르코 2:23-28
23 어느 안식일에 예수께서 밀밭 사이를 지나가시게 되었다. 그 때 함께 가던 제자들이 밀이삭을 자르기 시작하자  One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.
24 바리사이파 사람들이 예수께 "보십시오, 왜 저 사람들이 안식일에 해서는 안 될 일을 하고 있습니까?" 하고 물었다.
The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"
25 예수께서는 이렇게 반문하셨다. "너희는 다윗의 일행이 먹을 것이 없어서 굶주렸을 때에 다윗이 한 일을 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?  He answered, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?
26 에비아달 대사제 때에 다윗은 하나님의 집에 들어가서 제단에 차려 놓은 빵을 먹고 함께 있던 사람들에게도 주었다. 그 빵은 사제들밖에는 아무도 먹을 수 없는 빵이 아니었더냐?"
In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions."
27 예수께서는 이어서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "안식일이 사람을 위하여있는 것이지, 사람이 안식일을 위하여 있는 것은 아니다.
Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
28 따라서 사람의 아들은 또한 안식일의 주인이다."
So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."
