히브리서 5:1-10
1 대사제는 누구나 사람들 가운데서 뽑혀서 사람들을 대표하여 하나님을 섬기는 일을 맡은 사람입니다. 그래서 대사제는 속죄를 위해서 예물과 희생제물을 바치는 것입니다.
Every high priest is selected from among men and is appointed to represent them in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.
2 대사제는 자기도 연약한 인간이므로 무지하거나 유혹에 빠진 사람들을 동정할 수 있습니다.
He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.
3 그는 또 이렇게 연약하기 때문에 백성을 위해서뿐만 아니라 자신을 위해서도 속죄의 제물을 바쳐야 하는 것입니다.
This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.
4 이 영예로운 직무는 자기 스스로 얻는 것이 아니라 아론처럼 하나님의 부르심을 받아서 얻는 것입니다.  No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron was.
5 이와 같이 그리스도께서도 대사제와 영광스러운 자리를 스스로 차지하신 것이 아닙니다. 그 영광스러운 자리는, "너는 내 아들, 내가 오늘 너를 낳았다" 하고 말씀하신 하나님께서 주신 것입니다. So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father."
6 또 성서의 다른 곳을 보면, "너는 멜기세덱의 사제 직분을 잇는 영원한 사제이다" 하신 말씀도 있습니다.
And he says in another place, "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."
7 예수께서는 인간으로 이 세상에 계실 때에 당신을 죽음에서 구해 주실 수 있는 분에게 큰 소리와 눈물로 기도하고 간구하셨고 하나님께서는 당신을 경외하는 마음을 보시고 그 간구를 들어 주셨습니다.
During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
8 예수께서는 하나님의 아들이셨지만 고난을 겪음으로써 복종하는 것을 배우셨습니다.
Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered
9 그리고 완전하게 되신 후에 당신에게 복종하는 모든 사람을 위해서 영원한 구원의 근원이 되셨으며       and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him
10 하나님께로부터 멜기세덱의 사제 직분을 잇는 대사제로 임명받으셨습니다.
and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.

시편 110:1-4
1 야훼께서 내 주께 선언하셨다. "내 오른편에 앉아 있어라. 내가 네 원수들을 네 발판으로 삼을 때
Of David. A psalm. The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."
2 야훼가 시온에서 너에게 권능의 왕장을 내려 주리니, 네 원수들 가운데서 왕권을 행사하여라.
The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies.
3 네가 나던 날, 모태에서부터, 네 젊음의 새벽녘에 너는 이미 거룩한 산에게 왕권을 받았다."
Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth.
4 야훼께서 한번 맹세하셨으니 취소하지 않으시리라. "너는 멜기세덱의 법통을 이은 영원한 사제이다." The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

마르코 2:18-22
18 요한의 제자들과 바리사이파 사람들이 단식을 하고 있던 어느 날,사람들이 예수께 와서 "요한의 제자들과 바리사이파 사람의 제자들은 단식을 하는데 선생님의 제자들은 왜 단식을 하지 않습니까?" 하고 물었다.
Now John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, "How is it that John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not?"
19 예수께서는 이렇게 대답하셨다. "잔칫집에 온 신랑 친구들이 신랑이 함께 있는 동안에야 단식을 할 수 있겠느냐? 신랑이 함께 있는 동안에는 그럴 수 없다. Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them.
20 그러나 이제 신랑을 빼앗길 날이 온다. 그 때에 가서는 그들도 단식을 하게 될 것이다."
But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.
21 "낡은 옷에 새 천 조각을 대고 깁는 사람은 없다. 그렇게 하면 낡은 옷이 새 천 조각에 켕겨 더 찢어지게 된다.
"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse.
22 또 낡은 가죽부대에 새 포도주를 넣는 사람도 없다. 그렇게 하면 새 포도주가 부대를 터뜨려 포도주도 부대에 다 버리게 된다. 새 포도주는 새 부대에 담아야 한다."
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."
