히브리서 3:7-14
7 그러므로 성령께서는 이렇게 말씀하십니다. "너희가 오늘 하나님의 음성을 듣거든
So, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you hear his voice,
8 광야에서 유혹을 받고 반역하던 때처럼 완악한 마음을 품지 말아라.
do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert,
9 너희 조상들은 사십 년 동안이나 하나님께서 하시는 일을 보고도 하나님을 시험삼아 떠보았다.
where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did.
10 그러므로 하나님께서 그 세대를 보시고 노하시며 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '그들은 언제나 마음이 빗나가서 나의 길을 알지 못하였다.
That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.'
11 내가 노하여 맹세한 대로 그들은 결코 내 안식처에 들어오지 못하리라.'"
So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'"
12 형제 여러분, 여러분 중에는 믿지 않는 악한 마음을 품고 살아 계신 하나님께로부터 떨어져 나가는 사람이 없도록 조심하십시오. See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
13 성서에 "오늘" 이라고 한 말은 우리에게도 해당하는 말이니 날마다 서로 격려해서 아무도 죄의 속임수에 넘어가 고집부리는 일이 없도록 하십시오. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
14 우리가 처음의 확신을 끝까지 지켜 나가면 그리스도와 함께 상속자가 될 수 있습니다.
We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.

시편 95:1, 8-11
1 어서 와 야훼께 기쁜 노래 부르자 우리 구원의 바위 앞에서 환성을 올리자
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
(2 감사노래 부르며 그 앞에 나아가자 노랫가락에 맞추어 환성을 올리자.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
3 야훼는 높으신 하나님, 모든 신들을 거느리시는 높으신 임금님,
For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.
4 깊고 깊은 땅 속도 그분 수중에, 높고 높은 산들도 그분의 것,
In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 바다도 그의 것, 그분이 만드신 것, 굳은 땅도 그분 손이 빚어내신 것,
The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
6 어서 와 허리 굽혀 경배 드리자. 우리를 지으신 야훼께 무릎을 꿇자.
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
7 그는 우리의 하나님, 우리는 그의 기르시는 백성, 이끄시는 양떼. 오늘 너희는 그의 말씀을 듣게 되리니 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice,)
8 "므리바에서, 그 날 마싸 광야에서의 너희 선조들 처럼 너희는 마음을 완고하게 굳히지 말아라.
do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,
9 그들은 거기에서 내가 하는 일을 보고서도 나의 속을 떠보고 나를 시험하였다.
where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 사십 년 동안 그 세대에 싫증이 나 버려, 마침내 나는 말하였다. '마음이 헷갈린 백성이로구나. 나의 길을 도무지 깨닫지 못하는구나.'
For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways."
11 나는 울화가 터져 맹세하였다. '이들은 내 안식에 들지 못하리라.'"
So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."

마르코 복음 1:40-45
40 나병환자 하나가 예수께 와서 무릎을 꿇고 애원하며 "선생님은 하고자만 하시면 저를 깨끗이 고쳐 주실 수 있습니다" 하고 말씀드렸다. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."
41 예수께서 측은한 마음이 드시어 그에게 손을 갖다 대시며 "그렇게 해 주겠다. 깨끗하게 되어라" 하시자  Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"
42 그는 곧 나병 증세가 사라지면서 깨끗이 나았다.
Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.
43 예수께서 곧 그를 보내시면서
Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:
44 "아무에게도 말하지 말고 다만 사제에게 가서 네 몸을 보이고 모세가 명한 대로 예물을 드려 네가 깨끗해진 것을 그들에게 증명하여라" 하고 엄하게 이르셨다.
"See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."
45 그러나 그는 물러가서 이 일을 널리 선전하며 퍼뜨렸기 때문에 그때부터 예수께서는 드러나게 동네로 들어가지 못하시고 동네에서 떨어진 외딴 곳에 머물러 계셨다. 그래도 사람들은 사방에서 예수께 모여들었다.  Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.

히브리서 4:1-11
1 하나님께서 당신의 안식처에 들어가게 해 주시겠다는 약속이 살아 있으니 여러분 가운데 그 기회를 놓쳐 버렸다고 생각하는 사람이 있어서는 안 되겠습니다. Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.
2 우리도 그들과 마찬가지로 그 기쁜 소식을 듣지 않았습니까? 그들은 복음의 말씀을 듣고도 그것을 믿지 않았으므로 그 말씀이 그들에게 아무런 소용이 없었습니다.
For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.
3 이것은 하나님께서, "내가 노하여 맹세한 대로 그들은 결코 나의 안식처에 들어오지 못하리라" 고 말씀하신 대로입니다. 그러나 우리는 믿었기 때문에 그 안식처에 들어가게 될 것입니다. 사실 하나님께서도 세상을 창조하셨을 때에 일을 다 마치시고 쉬셨습니다.  Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, "So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'" And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world.
4 이것은 일곱째 날에 관하여 성서 어디엔가 "하나님께서는 당신의 모든 일을 마치시고 일곱째 날에 쉬셨다" 고 기록된 말씀대로 입니다.
For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work."
5 다시 한번 말하지만 "그들은 결코 나의 안식처에 들어오지 못하리라" 고 하셨는데
And again in the passage above he says, "They shall never enter my rest."
6 과연 그들은 먼저 그 기쁜 소식을 전해 듣고도 순종하지 않은 탓으로 그 안식을 누리지 못하였습니다. 그러나 다른 사람들이 안식을 누릴 기회를 아직도 남아 있습니다.  
It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience.
7 그래서 하나님께서는 오늘이라는 날을 다시 정하시고 오랜 세월이 지난 뒤에 앞서 인용한 대로 다윗을 시켜, "너희가 오늘 하나님의 음성을 듣거든 완악한 마음을 품지 말아라" 하고 말씀하신 것입니다. Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."
8 여호수아가 그들에게 안식을 주었다면 그 뒤에 하나님께서 또 다른 날이 있으리라고 말씀하시지는 않았을 것입니다.
For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
9 그러므로 하나님의 백성에게는 아직도 참 안식이 그대로 남아 있는 것입니다.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;
10 하나님께서 당신의 일을 마치고 쉬신 것처럼 하나님의 안식처에 들어 간 이도 그의 일손을 멈추고 쉬는 것입니다.  
for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.
11 그러니 우리도 그 안식을 누리도록 힘써야겠습니다. 옛 사람들처럼 순종하지 않았다가 낭패를 보아서야 되겠습니까?  
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

시편 78:3-8
3 선조들이 입으로 전해 준 이야기, 우리 모두 들어서 익히 아는 이야기,
what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us.
4 야훼의 영예와 그 크신 능력, 그리고 이루신 위대한 일들을 우리는 다음 세대에 숨김없이 전하리라. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 야곱과 굳은 언약 맺으시면서 이스라엘 자손에게 법을 주실 때, 후손들에게 그 법을 가르치라고 우리의 선조들에게 명령하셨다. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children,
6 뒤이어 태어날 후손에게도 대대로 알리라고 명령하셨다. 그들도 일어나서 자손에게 이야기하여
so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.
7 그들의 희망을 하나님께 두고 하나님이 이루신 장한 일들을 아니 잊어 버리고 분부하신 계명을 지키라고 명령하셨다.
Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
8 반역하고 고집 센 선조들처럼, 절개없이 하나님께 불충한 그 세대처럼, 그들처럼 되지 말라고 명령하셨다.  They would not be like their forefathers--a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.

마르코복음 2:1-12
1 며칠 뒤에 예수께서는 다시 가파르나움으로 가셨다. 예수께서 집에 계시다는 말이 퍼지자
A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.
2 많은 사람이 모여들어 마침내 문 앞에까지 빈틈없이 들어섰다. 그리고 예수께서는 그들에게 하나님의 말씀을 전하고 계셨다. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.
3 그 때 어떤 중풍병자를 네 사람이 들고 왔다.
Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.
4 그러나 사람들이 너무 많아 예수께 가까이 데려 갈 수가 없었다. 그래서 예수가 계신 바로 위의 지붕을 벗겨 구멍을 내고 중풍병자를 요에 눕힌 채 예수 앞에 달아 내려보냈다.
Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.
5 예수께서는 그들의 믿음을 보시고 중풍병자에게 "너는 죄를 용서받았다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
6 거기 앉아 있던 율법학자 몇 사람이 속으로
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,
7 "이 사람이 어떻게 감히 이런 말을 하여 하나님을 모독하는가? 하나님 말고 누가 죄를 용서할 수 있단 말인가?" 하며 중얼거렸다.
"Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
8 예수께서 그들의 생각을 알아채시고 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "어찌하여 너희는 그런 생각을 품고 있느냐?  Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things?
9 중풍병자에게 '너는 죄를 용서받았다' 하는 것과 '일어나 네 요를 걷어 가지고 걸어가거라' 하는 것과 어느 편이 더 쉽겠느냐?  Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'?
10 이제 땅에서 죄를 용서하는 권한이 사람의 아들에게 있다는 것을 보여 주겠다." 그리고 나서 중풍병자에게  But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . ." He said to the paralytic,
11 "내가 말하는 대로하여라. 일어나 요를 걷어 가지고 집으로 가거라" 하고 말씀하셨다.
"I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."
12 중풍병자는 사람들이 보는 앞에서 벌떡 일어나 곧 요를 걷어 가지고 나갔다. 그러자 모두들 몹시 놀라서 "이런 일은 정말 처음 보는 일이다" 하며 하나님을 찬양하였다. 예수께서 다시 호숫가로 나가셨다.  
He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
