이사야 42:1-9
1 여기에 나의 종이 있다. 그는 내가 믿어 주는 자, 마음에 들어 뽑아 세운 나의 종이다. 그는 나의 영을 받아 뭇 민족에게 바른 인생 길을 펴 주리라.
"Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations.
2 그는 소리치거나 고함을 지르지 않아 밖에서 그의 소리가 들리지 않는다.
He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.
3 갈대가 부러졌다 하여 잘라 버리지 아니하고, 심지가 깜박거린다 하여 등불을 꺼 버리지 아니하며, 성실하게 바른 인생길만 펴리라. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
4 그는 기가 꺾여 용기를 잃는 일 없이 끝까지 바른 인생 길을 세상에 펴리라. 바닷가에 사는 주민들도 그의 가르침을 기다린다.'
" he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope."
5 하늘을 창조하여 펼치시고 땅을 밟아 늘이시고 온갖 싹이 돋게 하신 하나님, 그 위에 사는 백성에게 입김을 넣어 주시고 거기 움직이는 것들에게 숨결을 주시는 하나님 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하신다.
This is what God the LORD says--he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it:
6 "나, 야훼가 너를 부른다. 정의를 세우라고 너를 부른다. 내가 너의 손을 잡아 지켜 주고 너를 세워 인류와 계약을 맺으니 너는 만국의 빛이 되어라.
"I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,
7 소경들의 눈을 열어 주고 감옥에 묶여 있는 이들을 풀어 주고 캄캄한 영창 속에 갇혀 있는 이들을 놓아주어라. to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
8 나는 야훼다. 이것이 내 이름이다. 내가 받을 영광을 뉘게 돌리랴? 내가 받을 찬양을 어떤 우상에게 돌리랴?
"I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.
9 전에 말한 일들은 이미 이루어졌다. 이제 새로 될 일을 내가 미리 알려 준다. 싹도 트기 전에 너희의 귀에 들려준다.
"See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you."

시편 29
1 하나님을 모시는 자들아, 야훼께 돌려 드려라. 영광과 권능을 야훼께 돌려 드려라.
A psalm of David. Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2 그 이름이 지니는 영광 야훼께 돌려 드려라. 거룩한 빛 두루신 야훼께 머리를 조아려라.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
3 야훼의 목소리가 바다 위에 울려 퍼진다. 영광의 하나님께서 천둥소리로 말씀하신다. 야훼께서 바닷물 위에 나타나신다. The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4 야훼의 목소리는 힘차시고 야훼의 목소리는 위엄이 넘친다.
The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 야훼의 목소리에 송백이 쩌개지고 레바논의 송백이 갈라진다.
The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 레바논 산이 송아지처럼 뛰고 시룐 산이 들송아지처럼 뛴다.
He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 야훼의 목소리에 불꽃이 튕기고,
The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.
8 야훼의 목소리에 광야가 흔들거린다. 야훼 앞에서 카데스 광야가 흔들리고
The voice of the LORD shakes the desert; the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 야훼의 목소리에 상수리나무들이 뒤틀리고 숲은 벌거숭이가 된다. 모두 주의 성전에 모여 "영광" 을 기리는 가운데
The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10 야훼, 거센 물결 위에 옥좌를 잡으시고 영원히 왕위를 차지하셨다.
The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11 야훼의 백성들아, 그에게서 힘을 얻고 축복 받아 평화를 누리어라.
The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

사도 10:34-43
34 베드로는 이렇게 말을 시작하였다. "나는 하나님께서 사람을 차별대우하지 않으시고
Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism
35 당신을 두려워하며 올바르게 사는 사람이면 어느 나라 사람이든지 다 받아 주신다는 사실을 깨달았습니다.
but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.
36 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 당신의 말씀을 전해 주셨는데 그것은 만민의 주 예수 그리스도를 시켜 선포하신 평화의 복음입니다. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
37 이것은 여러분도 알다시피 요한이 세례를 선포한 이래 갈릴레아에서 비롯하여 온 유다 지방에 걸쳐서 일어났던  You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached--
38 나자렛 예수에 관한 일들입니다. 하나님께서는 그분에게 성령과 능력을 부어주시고 그분과 함께 계셨습니다. 그래서 그분은 두루 다니시며 좋은 일을 해 주시고 악마에게 짓눌린 사람들을 모두 고쳐 주셨습니다.
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
39 우리는 예수께서 유다 지방과 예루살렘에서 행하신 모든 일을 목격한 사람입니다. 사람들이 그분을 십자가에 달아 죽였지만  "We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a tree,
40 하나님께서는 그분을 사흘만에 다시 살리시고 우리에게 나타나게 하셨습니다.
but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.
41 그분은 모든사람에게 나타나신 것이 아니라 하나님께서 증인으로 미리 택하신 우리에게 나타나셨습니다. 그분이 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 뒤에 우리는 그분과 함께 먹기도 하고 마시기도 하였습니다.
He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen--by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
42 그분은 우리에게 하나님께서 자기를 산 이들과 죽은 이들의 심판자로 정하셨다는 것을 사람들에게 선포하고 증언하라고 분부하셨습니다. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.
43 모든 예언자들도 이 예수를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 그분의 이름으로 죄를 용서받을 수 있다고 증언하였습니다. "All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

마태오복음 3:13-17
13 그 즈음에 예수께서 세례를 받으시려고 갈릴래아를 떠나 요르단강으로 요한을 찾아 오셨다.
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
14 그러나 요한은 "제가 선생님께 세례를 받아야 할 터인데 어떻게 선생님께서 제게 오십니까?" 하며 굳이 사양하였다.
But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"
15 예수께서 요한에게 "지금은 내가 하자는 대로 하여라. 우리가 이렇게 해야 하나님께서 원하시는 모든 일이 이루어진다" 하고 대답하셨다. 그제야 요한은 예수께서 하자시는 대로 하였다.
Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.
16 예수께서 세례를 받으시고 물에서 올라오시자 홀연히 하늘이 열리고 하나님의 성령이 비둘기 모양으로 당신 위에 내려오시는 것이 보였다.
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.
17 그 때 하늘에서 이런 소리가 들려 왔다. "이는 내 사랑하는 아들, 내 마음에 드는 아들이다."
And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

이사야 42장 6절 "나, 야훼가 너를 부른다. 정의를 세우라고 너를 부른다. 내가 너의 손을 잡아 지켜 주고 너를 세워 인류와 계약을 맺으니 너는 만국의 빛이 되어라.
"I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,

예수님처럼 우리도 만국의 빛이 되는 삶을 살아가기를 기도합니다.
