1요한 2:12-17
12 사랑하는 자녀들이여, 여러분의 죄가 그리스도를 통하여 용서를 받았기 때문에 나는 이 편지를 씁니다. I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
13 아버지 된 사람들이여, 천지창조 이전부터 계신 그분을 여러분이 알고 있기 때문에 나는 이 편지를 씁니다. 젊은이들이여, 여러분이 이미 악마를 이겼기 때문에 나는 이 편지를 씁니다.
I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, dear children, because you have known the Father.
14 어린 자녀들이여, 여러분이 이미 아버지를 알고 있기 때문에 나는 이 편지를 씁니다. 아버지 된 사람들이여, 천지창조 이전부터 계신 그분을 여러분이 알고 있기 때문에 나는 이 편지를 씁니다. 젊은이들이여, 여러분은 강하고, 하나님의 말씀을 지니고 살며 악마를 이겨냈기 때문에 나는 이 편지를 씁니다.  I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15 여러분은 세상이나 세상에 속한 것들을 사랑하지 마십시오. 세상을 사랑하는 사람에게는 그 마음 속에 아버지를 향한 사랑이 없습니다. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 세상에 있는 모든 것, 곧 육체의 쾌락과 눈의 쾌락을 좇는 것이나 재산을 가지고 자랑하는 것은 아버지께로부터 나온 것이 아니고 세상에서 나온 것입니다.
For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.
17 세상도 가고 세상의 정욕도 다 지나가지만 하나님의 뜻대로 사는 사람은 영원히 살 것입니다.
The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

시편 96:7-10
7 힘과 영광을 야훼께 돌려라. 민족들아, 지파마다 야훼께 영광을 돌려라.
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8 예물을 들고 하나님 앞에 나아가 그 이름에 어울리는 영광을 야훼께 돌려라.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.
9 거룩한 광채 입으신 야훼를 경배하여라. 온 땅은 그 앞에서 무서워 떨어라.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.
10 이 땅을 든든하게 세우신 야훼 앞에서 "야훼가 왕이시다" 고 만방에 외쳐라. 만백성을 공정하게 심판하시리라. Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.

루가복음 2:36-40
36 또한 파누엘의 딸로서 아셀 지파의 혈통을 이어받은 안나라는 나이 많은 여자 예언자가 있었다. 그는 결혼하여 남편과 일곱 해를 같이 살다가  
There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,
37 과부가 되어 여든 네 살이 되도록 성전을 떠나지 않고 밤낮 없이 단식과 기도로써 하나님을 섬겨 왔다. and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
38 이 여자는 예식이 진행되고 있을 때에 바로 그 자리에 왔다가 하나님께 감사를 드리고 예루살렘이 구원될 날을 기다리던 모든 사람에게 이 아기의 이야기를 하였다.
Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.
39 아기의 부모는 주님의 율법을 따라 모든 일을 다 마치고 자기 고향 갈릴래아 지방 나자렛으로 돌아갔다. When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.
40 아기는 날로 튼튼하게 자라면서 지혜가 풍부해지고 하나님의 은총을 받고 있었다. And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

+ 여러분은 세상이나 세상에 속한 것들을 사랑하지 마십시오. 세상을 사랑하는 사람에게는 그 마음 속에 아버지를 향한 사랑이 없습니다. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
아직도 세상의 것들을 모두 버리지 못하는 자신을 바라봅니다. 아직도 온전히 하느님만을 사랑하지 못함을 고백합니다. 안나 선지자가 주야로 금식하고 기도하는 삶을 통하여 아기 예수를 보고 증거 하는 복된 삶을 살았듯이 우리도 오직 하나님의 뜻만을 행하는 자되어 주님 안에 영원히 거할 수 있는 자 되게 하소서. 마라나타!
