히브리서 2:5-12
5 하나님께서는 우리가 지금 말하고 있는 장차 올 세상을 천사들의 지배 아래 두시지는 않습니다.
It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
6 성서에 어떤 이가 이렇게 증언한 대목이 있습니다. "인간이 무엇이기에 주님께서 그를 잊지 않으시며 사람의 아들이 무엇이기에 주님께서 돌보십니까? But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
7 주님은 그를 잠시 천사들보다 못하게 하셨으나 영광과 영예의 관을 씌우셨으며
You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor
8 만물을 그의 발 아래 복종시키셨습니다." 이렇게 만물을 그에게 복종시키셨다는 것은 그의 지배 아래 있지 않은 것은 하나도 없다는 뜻입니다. 그런데도 우리가 보기에는 아직도 만물이 다 그에게 복종하고 있지는 않습니다. and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
9 그러나 우리가 알다시피 예수께서는 죽음의 고통을 당하심으로써 잠시 동안 천사들보다 못하게 되셨다가 마침내 영광과 영예의 관을 받아 쓰셨습니다. 이렇게 예수께서 모든 사람을 위하여 죽음의 고통을 겪으신 것은 하나님의 은총의 소치입니다.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
10 하나님은 만물을 창조하신 분이시고 만물은 그분을 위해서 있습니다. 그러므로 하나님께서 당신의 많은 자녀들이 영광에 참여할 수 있도록 그들의 많은 자녀들이 영광에 참여할 수 있도록 그들의 구원의 창시자로 하여금 고난을 겪게 해서 완전하게 하신다는 것은 당연한 일이었습니다.
In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.
11 사람을 거룩하게 해 주시는 분과 거룩하게 된 사람들은 모두 같은 근원에서 나왔습니다. 그래서 예수께서는 거리낌없이 그들을 형제라고 부르시고  Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
12 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. "내가 당신의 이름을 내 형제들에게 선포하며 회중 가운데서 당신을 찬미하겠습니다." He says, "I will declare your name to my brothers; in the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises."
13 또 "나는 그분을 신뢰하겠습니다" 하고 말씀하셨고 또다시 "하나님께서 나에게 주신 자녀들이 나와 함께 여기 있습니다" 하고 말씀하셨습니다. And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again he says, "Here am I, and the children God has given me."

시편 8
1 야훼, 우리의 주여! 주의 이름 온 세상에 어찌 이리 크십니까! 주의 영광 기리는 노래 하늘 높이 퍼집니다. For the director of music. According to gittith. A psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 어린이, 젖먹이들이 노래합니다. 이로써 원수들과 반역자들을 꺽으시고 당신께 맞서는 자들을 무색케 하셨습니다. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 당신의 작품, 손수 만드신 저 하늘과 달아 놓으신 달과 별들을 우러러 보면 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 사람이 무엇이기에 이토록 생각해 주시며 사람이 무엇이기에 이토록 보살펴 주십니까?
what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
5 그를 하나님 다음가는 자리에 앉히시고 존귀와 영광의 관을 씌워 주셨습니다.
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 손수 만드신 만물을 다스리게 하시고 모든 것을 발 밑에 거느리게 하셨습니다.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:
7 크고 작은 온갖 가축과 들에서 뛰노는 짐승들하며
all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
8 공중의 새와 바다의 고기, 물길 따라 두루 다니는 물고기들을 통틀어 다스리게 하셨습니다.
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 야훼, 우리의 주여! 주의 이름 온 세상에 어찌 이리 크십니까!
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

마르코 복음 1:21-28
21 예수의 일행은 가파르나움으로 갔다. 안식일에 예수께서는 회당에들어 가 가르치셨는데
They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.
22 사람들은 그 가르치심을 듣고 놀랐다. 그 가르치시는 것이 율법학자들과는 달리 권위가 있었기 때문이다. The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.
23 그 때 더러운 악령 들린 사람 하나가 회당에 있다가 큰 소리로
Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out,
24 "나자렛 예수님, 어찌하여 우리를 간섭하시려는 것입니까? 우리를 없애려고 오셨습니까? 나는 당신이 누구신지 압니다. 당신은 하나님께서 보내신 거룩한 분이십니다" 하고 외쳤다.
"What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"
25 그래서 예수께서는 "입을 다물고 이 사람에게서 나가거라" 하고 꾸짖으시자
"Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!"
26 더러운 악령은 그 사람에게 발작을 일으켜 놓고 큰 소리를 지르며 떠나갔다.
The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.
27 이것을 보고 모두들 놀라 "이게 어찌 된 일이냐? 이것은 권위 있는 새 교훈이다. 그의 명령에는 더러운 악령들도 굴복하는 구나!" 하며 서로 수군거렸다.
The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching--and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him."
28 예수의 소문은 삽시간에 온 갈릴래아와 그 근방에 두루 퍼졌다.
News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

오늘 하루도 우리 삶을 통하여 권위있는 새 교훈을 허락하신, 십자가에 죽으심으로 우리를 구원하신 예수의 소문을 전하는 사람들이 되기를 기도합니다.
