사도행전 22:30, 23:6-11
22:30 이튿날 파견대장은 유다인들이 왜 바울로를 고소하는지를 확실히 알아보려고 바울로를 묶었던 사슬을 풀어 주고 대사제들과 온 의회를 소집하게 하였다. 그리고 바울로를 데려다가 그들 앞에 세웠다.
Since he wanted to find out what Paul was being accused of by the Jews, the next day he released him and ordered the chief priests and the entire council to meet. He brought Paul down and had him stand before them.
23 : 6 그 의회에 사두가이파와 바리사이파 두 파가 있는 것을 알고 바울로는 거기에서 큰 소리로 이렇게 외쳤다. "형제 여러분, 나는바리사이파 사람이며 내 부모도 바리사이파 사람들입니다. 내가 이렇게 재판을 받고 있는 것은 우리 바리사이파 사람들이 믿는 대로 나도 죽은 자들의 부활에 대한 희망을 가지고 있기 때문입니다." When Paul noticed that some were Sadducees and others were Pharisees, he called out in the council, "Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. I am on trial concerning the hope of the resurrection of the dead."
7 바울로가 이런 말을 하자 바리사이파와 사두가이파 사이에 분쟁이 일어나 의회는 갈라지고 말았다.
When he said this, a dissension began between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.
8 사두가이파는 부활도 천사도 영적 존재도 다 없다고 주장하는 사람들이고 바리사이파는 그런 것이 다 있다고 믿는 사람들이었던 것이다. (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, or angel, or spirit; but the Pharisees acknowledge all three.)
9 그래서 장내가 몹시 소란해 졌다. 바리사이파에서 율법학자 몇 사람이 일어나 "우리는 이 사람에게서 조금도 잘못을 찾을 수 없습니다. 만일 영적 존재나 천사가 그에게 말해 주었다면 어떻게 할 셈입니까?" 하고 내대며 바울로를 두둔하였다.
Then a great clamor arose, and certain scribes of the Pharisees' group stood up and contended, "We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?"
10 논쟁이 심해지자 파견대장은 바울로가 그들에게 찢겨 죽을까 염려하여 자기 부하들을 내려 보내며 바울로를 거기에서 빼내어 병영으로 데려 가라고 명령하였다.
When the dissension became violent, the tribune, fearing that they would tear Paul to pieces, ordered the soldiers to go down, take him by force, and bring him into the barracks.
11 그 날 밤 주께서 바울로를 찾아 오셔서 "용기를 내어라. 너는 예루살렘에서 나에 관하여 증언한 것처럼 로마에서도 증언해야 한다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
That night the Lord stood near him and said, "Keep up your courage! For just as you have testified for me in Jerusalem, so you must bear witness also in Rome."

시편 16:1-2, 6-11
1 하나님, 나를 지켜 주소서. 이 몸은 당신께로 피합니다.
(A Miktam of David.) Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 야훼께 아뢰옵니다. "당신은 나의 주님, 당신만이 나의 행복이십니다."
I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you."
6 당신께서 나에게 떼어 주신 기름진 땅 흡족하게 마음에 듭니다.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; I have a goodly heritage.
7 좋은 생각 주시는 야훼님 찬미하오니 밤에도 좋은 생각 반짝입니다.
I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me.
8 야훼여, 언제나 내 앞에 모시오니 내 옆에 당신 계시면 흔들릴 것 없사옵니다.
I keep the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 그러므로 이 마음 이 넋이 기쁘고 즐거워 육신마져 걱정없이 사오리다.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure.
10 어찌 이 목숨을 지하에 버려 두시며 당신만 사모하는 이 몸을 어찌 썩게 버려 두시리이까?
For you do not give me up to Sheol, or let your faithful one see the Pit.
11 삶의 길을 몸소 가리켜 주시니 당신 모시고 흡족할 기꺼움이, 당신 오른편에서 누릴 즐거움이 영원합니다. You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

요한복음 17:20-26
20 "나는 이 사람들만을 위하여 간구하는 것이 아니라 이 사람들의 말을 듣고 나를 믿는 사람들을 위하여 간구합니다. "I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word,
21 아버지, 이 사람들이 모두 하나가 되게 하여 주십시오. 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 내가 아버지 안에 있는 것과 같이 이 사람들도 우리들 안에 있게 하여 주십시오. 그러면 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것을 세상이 믿게 될 것입니다.
that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 아버지께서 내게 주신 영광을 나도 그들에게 주었습니다. 그것은 아버지와 내가 하나인 것처럼 이 사람들도 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다.
The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one,
23 내가 이 사람들 안에 있고 아버지께서 내 안에 계신 것은 이 사람들을 완전히 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다. 이것은 세상으로 하여금 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것을 알게 하려는 것이며 또 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것처럼 이 사람들도 사랑하셨다는 것을 알게 하려는 것입니다.
I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 아버지, 아버지께서 나에게 맡기신 사람들을 내가 있는 곳에 함께 있게 하여 주시고 아버지께서 천지 창조 이전부터 나를 사랑하셔서 나에게 주신 그 영광을 그들도 볼 수 있게 하여 주십시오.
Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
25 의로우신 아버지, 세상은 아버지를 모르지만 나는 아버지를 알고 있습니다. 그리고 이 사람들도 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것을 깨달았습니다. "Righteous Father, the world does not know you, but I know you; and these know that you have sent me.
26 나는 이 사람들에게 아버지를 알게 하였으며 앞으로도 그렇게 하겠습니다. 그것은 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 그 사랑이 그들 안에 있고 나도 그들 안에 있게 하려는 것입니다."
I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them."
