소단락중의 서두를 지나 일예를 보여 주는 부분을
소개 드리겠읍니다.

독해가 영 형편이 없네요, 본문을 실었으니 참조하셔서

우리들은 살아가면서 여러가지 사건과 목격을 만나게 되지요.
이것이 긍적적인 이미지의 출발입니다.

의식이 무의식이 된다 이때 강력한 파워가 ....


it's wintertime in Cincinanati a generation ago. A cold wind chills the
crowds hurrying along the busy street. A young boy- maybe eleven, maybe twelve
- has stopped outside the building that houses the city's newspaper, the
powerful and respected Cincinnati Enquirer.
첫째얘기는 일세대 전 신시네티의 겨울에서 시작됩니다. 빠쁜 걸음의 사람들로 춥고
분주한 거리에
한 12살 정도의 어린소년이 그시의 영향력있고 명성이있는 신시네티 인과이널이라는 신문
이 입주되있는 빌딩 밖에 서있었다.
The youngster is not too warmly dressed; his clothes are obviously hand-me downs.
Shivering a bit , he is staring through the big plate-glass window, watching the
feverish journalistic activity inside.
추위에 떨면서,소년은 유리창을 통해 안의 열기띤 신문사 작업을 뚤어지게 보고 있었다.
One figure in particular has caught his eys: a burly man in shirtsleeves seated
at a central desk. A green eyeshade shields his eyes from the glare of a light bulb
dangling above his head. An unlighted cigar in clamped between his teeth.
특히 소년의 주위를 끄는 것이 있었다: 중심데스크에 와이셔츠 차림의 강한 인상의 남자
였다.
His desk bristles with  scraps of typescript impaled on spikes.
Papers overflow from wire baskets. The black headlines of various editions spill
onto the floor around him. Activity. Confusion. Chaos. But power emanates from that
desk , and  the boy in the street can sense it . He knows that this man is in command.
그의 책상에는 스크랩 들이 못에 꽃히고, 휴지통에는 종이들이 넘치고, 다양한 초판원고가
그 주변의 마루에 흘려져 있다. 생동감, 혼돈, 혼란 그러나 그 책상에서는 힘을 발산하고
있었다. 그리고 소년은 그것을 감지 할 수 있었다. 소년은 그 남자가 지휘권을 갖고 있음을
알았다.
The man spins around in his swivel chair, twists a sheet of yellowish  paper into
an ancient typewriter, hammers out  a few staccato lines. He rips it out,
stares at it, takes a black copy pencil from behind his ear, makes a few lightening-
swift corrections. He raises his head , barks an order. A copyboy darts forward,
snatches the paper, disappears. The shivering witness in the street watches,
transfixed.
그 남자는 회전의자에서 돌다가 타자기에 종이를 넣어 몇줄 치고, 뽑아서 관찰하여 , 빠른교정
를 하였고 이내 머리를 들고 명령을 내렷다. 복사소년이 달려와서 그 종이를 가지고
사라진다. 이러한 광경이 추워에 떨며 거리에 있는 이 목격자를 멈추게 하였다.
A huge policeman saunters past, twirling his nigtstick. Impulsively, the boy turns
to him. "Officer, who is that man in there -- the one with the eyeshade and the cigar?"
"Him?" The blue giant looks down indulgently. " He's the editor, sonny. The editor
of the Cincinnati Enquirer, that's who he is."
소년은 지나가는 경찰에게 저기에 있는 챙모자 하고와 시가를 문 저사람이 누굽니까? 하고 물었다.
그는 신시네티 인쿼이어널의 편집장인 소니냐. 라고 알려 주었다.
The policeman moves on. Finally the boy goes down the street. looking just as he did
before. But he is not the same as before. He is changed. He's no longer aware of the
cold wind or the hurrying crowds around him. Inside his head a scene is forming --
not just a vague or casual daydream, but  a vision of the future that has all the
reality, all the intensity of the present. Intuitively, the boy knows that sooner or
later what he is visualizing will come to pass. He is sure of it .  The scene in his
head is a replica of the scene he has just witnessed behind the plate-glass window, with
one all-important change. The occupant of the editor's chair, thirty years hence, is  
himself. Himself, Roger Gerger, a poor youngster with no  connections,  no advantages,
nothing except an image so powerful that it will bend all the laws of probability
until they conform to an even stronger, though hidden law.
경찰도 지나가고 그소년도 마침내 그 거리를 떠났다. 그 소년은 이전의 소년처럼 보였으나,
그는 이전과는 달라졌다. 그는 변해 있었다. 그는 더이상 추운 바람과  그 주변의 분주한
인파들을 의식하지 못하였다. 그의 머리안에는 하나의 장면이 형성되고 있었다.--
희미하지 않고 일상적인 춘몽도 아닌 그 실현에 전적인 실제성과 강력함를 가진 미래의
비젼으로서의 .
직관적으로 그 소년은 조만간 그가 시각화한 것들이 실현될것을 알았다. 그는
그것을 확인시꼈다. 그의 머리속의 장면은  그가 판유리창뒤에서 목격하였던 그 장면의
복사판이었다.
한세대 후 그 편집장 의자의 주인은    로저 저절, 그 숨겨진 법칙을 통해서
모든 통계의 법칙을 이겨낸 강력한 이미지를 제외하곤 인맥이난 특권을 가지지 못한 한
가난한 소년이었다.
He goes home with that image fixed in his head. When he says his prayers that night,
he relives his dream and asks for help in achieving it. Night after night he does this,
unaware that by imaging himself so intensely in that editorial chair, and by
reinforcing that image with prayer , he is touching the kingdom of God within himself
and releasing forces more powerful than he knows.
그는 그의 머리에 그 이미지를 가지고 집으로 갔다. 그날밤 그가 그의 기도를 드릴떄,
그는 그의 꿈을 회상하고 그것을 이루수 있는 도움을 간청하였다. 밤이면 밤마다
그는 기도했다.편집장의자에 대한 강한 이미지와  기도로서 그 이미지가 강화되고 있다는것을
인식하기 못하면서 그는 밤마다 기도했다. 그는 그 속의 하나님의 왕국과 접촉하고 있었고,
그가 아는것 보다 더욱 강력한 힘을 발산하고 있었다.
How do I know this stroy? I know because Roger Ferger related it to me yeras after
that memorable day in his childhood. He told me when he was not merely the editor
but alse the publisher and the owner of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
이이야기를 제가 어떻게 알까요? 그의 유년기에 그 기념비적 날 수년후에 나와 그는 알게
되었읍니다. 그는 신시네티 인콰이널의 주인, 편집장, 발간자도 아니었을떄,
나에게 이야기 해주었읍니다.
