예레미야 31:31-34
31 앞으로 내가 이스라엘과 유다의 가문과 새 계약을 맺을 날이 온다. 나 야훼가 분명히 일러둔다.
"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
32 이 새 계약은 그 백성의 조상들의 손을 잡아 에집트에서 데려 내 오던 때에 맺은 것과는 같지 않다. 나는 그들을 내 것으로 삼았지만, 그들은 나와 맺은 계약을 깨뜨리고 말았다. 귀담아 들어라. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them," declares the LORD.
33 그 날 내가 이스라엘 가문과 맺을 계약이란 그들의 가슴에 새겨 줄 내 법을 말한다. 내가 분명히 말해 둔다. 그 마음에 내 법을 새겨주어, 나는 그들의 하나님이 되고 그들은 내 백성이 될 것이다. "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
34 내가 그들의 잘못을 다시는 기억하지 아니하고 그 죄를 용서하여 주리니, 다시는 이웃이나 동기끼리 서로 깨우쳐 주며 야훼의 심정을 알아 드리자고 하지 않아도 될 것이며, 높은 사람이나 낮은 사람이나 내 마음을 모르는 사람이 없으리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다."
No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

시편 51:10-16
10 하나님, 깨끗한 마음을 새로 지어 주시고 꿋꿋한 뜻을 새로 세워 주소서.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 당신 앞에서 나를 쫓아 내지 마시고 당신의 거룩한 뜻을 거두지 마소서.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 그 구원의 기쁨을 나에게 도로 주시고 변치 않는 마음 내 안에 굳혀 주소서.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 죄인들에게 당신의 길을 가르치리니 빗나갔던 자들이 당신께로 되돌아 오리이다.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you.
14 하나님, 내 구원의 하나님, 죽음의 형벌에서 이 몸을 건져 주소서. 이 혀로 당신의 정의를 높이 찬양하리이다. Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 나의 주여, 내 입술을 열어 주소서. 이 입으로 주를 찬양하리이다.
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 당신은 제물을 즐기지 아니하시며, 번제를 드려도 받지 아니하십니다.
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

마태복음 16:13-23
13 예수께서 필립보의 가이사리아 지방에 이르렀을 때에 제자들에게 "사람의 아들을 누구라고 하더냐?" 하고 물으셨다. When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"
14 "어떤 사람들은 세례자 요한이라고 하고 어떤 사람들은 엘리야라하고 또 예레미야나 예언자 가운데 한 분이라고 하는 사람들도 있습니다." 제자들이 이렇게 대답하자 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
15 예수께서 이번에는 "그러면 너희는 나를 누구라고 생각하느냐?" 하고 물으셨다.
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
16 "선생님은 살아 계신 하나님의 아들 그리스도이십니다." 시몬 베드로가 이렇게 대답하자
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
17 예수께서는 "시몬 바르요나, 너에게 그것을 알려 주신 분은 사람이 아니라 하늘에 계신 내 아버지시니 너는 복이 있다. Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
18 잘 들어라. 너는 베드로이다. 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세울 터인즉 죽음의 힘도 감히 그것을 누르지 못할 것이다. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 또 나는 너에게 하늘 나라의 열쇠를 주겠다. 네가 무엇이든지 땅에서 매면 하늘에도 매여 있을 것이며 땅에서 풀면 하늘에도 풀려 있을 것이다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
20 그리고 나서 예수께서는 자신이 그리스도라는 것을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 단단히 당부하셨다.
Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.
21 그 때부터 예수께서는 제자들에게 자신이 반드시 예루살렘에 올라가 원로들과 대사제들과 율법학자들에게 많은 고난을 받고 그들의 손에 죽었다가 사흘만에 다시 살아날 것임을 알려 주셨다.
From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
22 베드로는 예수를 붙들고 "주님, 안됩니다. 결코 그런 일이 있어서는 안 됩니다" 하고 말리었다. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
23 그러나 예수께서는 베드로를 돌아다보시고 "사탄아, 물러가라. 너는 나에게 장애물이다. 너는 하나님의 일을 생각하지 않고 사람의 일만을 생각하는구나!" 하고 꾸짖으셨다.
Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
