사도행전 1:15-17, 21-26
15 그 무렵 어느 날 교우가 백 이십 명 가량 모여 있었는데 그 자리에 베드로가 일어나 이렇게 말하였다.
In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty)
16 "교우 여러분, 예수를 잡은 자들의 앞잡이가 된 유다에 관하여 성령께서 다윗의 입을 빌어 예언하신 말씀은 정녕 이루어져야만 했습니다.
and said, "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus--
17 그는 본래 우리 열 두 사람 중 하나로서 우리와 함께 일하던 사람이었습니다.
he was one of our number and shared in this ministry."
18 그는 주님을 판 돈으로 밭을 샀습니다. 그러나 그는 땅에 거꾸러져서 배가 갈라져 내장이 온통 터져 나왔습니다. (With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.
19 예루살렘의 시민들이 모두 이 사실을 전해 듣고 그 밭을 그들 말로 '아겔다마' 라고 불렀습니다. '피의 밭' 이란 뜻입니다. Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20 시편에, '그의 집을 폐허로 만드시고 아무도 거기에 드는 이 없게 하여 주십시오.' 또 '다른 사람으로 하여금 그의 자리를 차지하게 하여 주십시오' 라고 기록되어 있습니다.
"For," said Peter, "it is written in the book of Psalms, "'May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it,' and, "'May another take his place of leadership.'
21 그러므로 우리는 우리 주 예수께서 우리와 함께 지내 오시는 동안, 곧 요한이 세례를 주던 때부터 예수께서 우리 곁을 떠나 승천하신 날까지 줄곧 우리와 같이 있던 사람 중에서
Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 하나를 뽑아 우리와 더불어 주 예수의 부활의 증인이 되게 해야 하겠습니다."
beginning from John's baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection."
23 그들은 바르사빠라고도 하고 유스도라고도 하는 요셉과 마티아 두사람을 천거한 다음
So they proposed two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias.
24 이렇게 기도하였다. "모든 사람의 마음을 다 아시는 주님, 주님께서 이 두 사람 중 누구를 뽑으셨는지 알려 주십시오. Then they prayed, "Lord, you know everyone's heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen
25 유다는 사도직을 버리고 제 갈 곳으로 갔습니다. 그 직분을 누구에게 맡기시렵니까?"
to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs."
26 그리고 나서 제비를 뽑았더니 마티아가 뽑혀서 열 한 사도와 같이사도직을 맡게 되었다.
Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.








시편 1편
1 복되어라. 악을 꾸미는 자리에 가지 아니하고 죄인들의 길을 거닐지 아니하며 조소하는 자들과 어울리지 아니하고, Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 야훼께서 주신 법을 낙으로 삼아 밤낮으로 그 법을 되새기는 사람
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 그에게 안 될 일이 무엇이랴! 냇가에 심어진 나무 같아서 그 잎사귀가 시들지 아니하고 제 철 따라 열매 맺으리. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4 사악한 자는 그렇지 아니하니 바람에 까불리는 겨와도 같아.
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 야훼께서 심판하실 때에 머리조차 들지 못하고, 죄인이라 의인들 모임에 끼지도 못하리라.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 악한 자의 길은 멸망에 이르나, 의인의 길은 야훼께서 보살피신다.
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

1요한 5:9-13
9 우리가 사람의 증언을 인정한다면 하나님의 증언은 더욱 더 인정해야 하지 않겠습니까? 이것은 하나님께서 친히 당신의 아들에 관해서 증언해 주신 증인이기 때문입니다.
We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.
10 하나님의 아들을 믿는 사람은 이 증언을 자기 마음 속에 간직하고있습니다. 하나님을 믿지 않는 자는 하나님을 거짓말장이로 만듭니다. 그런 자는 하나님께서 당신의 아들에 관해서 증언하신 것을 믿지 않기 때문입니다. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.
11 그 증언은 하나님께서 영원한 생명을 우리에게 주셨다는 것과 그 생명이 당신의 아들 안에 있다는 것입니다. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 하나님의 아들을 모신 사람은 생명을 가진 사람이고 그 아들을 모시지 않은 사람은 생명을 가지지 못한 사람입니다.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
13 나는 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 여러분에게 이 글을 씁니다. 그것은 여러분이 영원한 생명을 갖고 있다는 것을 여러분에게 알리려는 것입니다.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

요한복음 17:6-19
6 "나는 아버지께서 세상 사람들 가운데서 뽑아 내게 맡겨 주신 이 사람들에게 아버지를 분명히 알려 주었습니다. 이 사람들은 본래 아버지의 사람들이었지만 내게 맡겨 주셨습니다. 이 사람들은 과연 아버지의 말씀을 잘 지키었습니다.
"I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
7 지금 이 사람들은 나에게 주신 모든 것이 아버지께로부터 왔다는 것을 알고 있습니다.
Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.
8 나는 나에게 주신 말씀을 이 사람들에게 전하였습니다. 이 사람들은 그 말씀을 받아 들였고 내가 아버지께로부터 온 것을 참으로 깨달았으며 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 믿었습니다.
For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.
9 나는 이 사람들을 위하여 간구합니다. 세상을 위하여 간구하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내게 맡기신 이 사람들을 위하여 간구합니다. 이 사람들은 아버지의 사람들입니다.
I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
10 나의 것은 다 아버지의 것이며 아버지의 것은 다 나의 것입니다. 그래서 이 사람들로 말미암아 내 영광이 나타났습니다.
All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.
11 나는 이제 세상을 떠나 아버지께 돌아 가지만 이 사람들은 세상에남아 있을 것입니다. 거룩하신 아버지, 나에게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 이 사람들을 지켜 주십시오. 그리고 아버지와 내가 하나인 것처럼 이 사람들도 하나가 되게 하여 주십시오.
I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one.
12 내가 이 사람들과 함께 있을 때에는 나에게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 내가 이 사람들을 지켰습니다. 그 동안에 오직 멸망할 운명에 놓인 자를 제외하고는 하나도 잃지 않았습니다. 하나를 잃은 것은 성경 말씀이 이루어지기 위한 것이었습니다.
While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 지금 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 아직 세상에 있으면서 이 말씀을 드리는 것은 이 사람들이 내 기쁨을 마음껏 누리게 하려는 것입니다.
"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
14 나는 이 사람들에게 아버지의 말씀을 전해 주었는데 세상은 이 사람들을 미워했습니다. 그것은 내가 이 세상에 속해 있지 않은 것처럼 이 사람들도 이 세상에 속해 있지 않기 때문입니다.
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
15 내가 아버지께 원하는 것은 그들을 이 세상에서 데려 가시는 것이 아니라 악마에게서 지켜 주시는 일입니다.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
16 내가 이 세상에 속하지 않은 것처럼 이 사람들도 이 세상에 속한 사람들이 아닙니다.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
17 이 사람들이 진리를 위하여 몸을 바치는 사람이 되게 하여 주십시오. 아버지의 말씀이 곧 진리입니다. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
18 아버지께서 나를 세상에 보내신 것같이 나도 이 사람들을 세상에 보냈습니다.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
19 내가 이 사람들을 위하여 이 몸을 아버지께 바치는 것은 이 사람들도 참으로 아버지께 자기 몸을 바치게 하려는 것입니다."
For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
