사도행전 15:7-21
7 오랜 토론 끝에 베드로가 일어나서 그들에게 이렇게 말하였다. "형제 여러분, 여러분이 아시는 바와 같이 하나님께서는 내 입을 빌어 이방인들도 복음을 듣고 믿게 하시려고 일찌기 여러분 가운데서 나를 뽑아 주셨습니다. After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.
8 그리고 사람의 마음 속을 아시는 하나님께서는 성령을 그들에게도 내리셔서 우리와 똑같이 인정해 주셨습니다. God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.
9 그리고 그들의 믿음을 보시고 그들의 마음을 깨끗하게 하셔서 우리와 그들 사이에 아무런 차별도 두지 않으셨습니다. He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.
10 그런데 지금 여러분은 왜 우리의 조상들이나 우리가 다 감당하지 못했던 멍에를 그 신도들의 목에 메워서 하나님께서 하시는 일을 간섭하려 드는 것입니까?
Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?
11 그들의 경우와 마찬가지로 우리가 구원받는 것도 주 예수의 은총으로 되는 것이라고 믿습니다."
No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."
12 이 말을 듣고 온 회중은 조용해졌다. 그리고 바르나바와 바울로가 하나님께서 자기들을 통하여 이방인들 가운데서 행하신 여러 가지기적과 놀라운 일들에 대하여 보고하는 것을 들었다.
The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.
13 두 사도가 말을 마치자 야고보가 나서서 이렇게 말하였다. "형제 여러분, 내가 한 말씀드리겠습니다.
When they finished, James spoke up: "Brothers, listen to me.
14 하나님게서 이방인들을 돌보시어 그들 가운데서 처음에 당신의 백성을 뽑아 주시게 된 경위를 시몬이 말해 주었습니다. Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.
15 이 사실은 예언자들의 말과도 일치합니다. 예언서에는 이렇게 기록되어 있습니다.
The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:
16 '그 뒤에 내가 다시 돌아 와 무너진 다윗의 집을 다시 지으려니 허물어진 곳을 다시 고치고 그것을 바로 세우리라. "'After this I will return and rebuild David's fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it,
17 그리하여 살아 남은 백성들이 다 주를 찾고 내 백성이 된 모든 이방인들까지도 모두 주를 찾게 되리라. that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who bear my name, says the Lord, who does these things'
18 오래 전부터 이것을 알게 해 주시는 주께서 이렇게 말씀하신다.'
that have been known for ages.
19 그러므로 내 의견은 하나님께로 돌아오는 이방인들을 괴롭힐 것이 아니라 "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
20 다만 우상에게 바쳐서 더러워진 것을 먹지말고 음란한 행동을 하지말고 목 졸라 죽인 짐승의 고기와 피를 먹지 말라고 편지를 띄웠으면 합니다.
Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.
21 예로부터 어느 도시에나 모세의 율법을 풀이하는 사람들이 있어서 그 율법을 안식일마다 회당에서 읽어 왔습니다." For Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath."

시편 96:1-3, 7-10
1 새 노래로 야훼를 노래하여라. 온 세상아, 야훼를 노래하여라.
Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 야훼를 노래하고 그 이름을 찬양하여라. 우리를 구원하셨다. 그 기쁜 소식 날마다 전하여라.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
3 놀라운 일을 이루시어 이름을 떨치셨으니 뭇 민족, 만백성에게 이를 알리어라.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
4 높으신 야훼를 어찌 다 찬양하랴. 신이 많다지만 야훼만큼 두려운 신이 있으랴.
For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.
5 뭇 족속이 섬기는 신은 모두 허수아비지만 야훼께서는 하늘을 만드셨다.
For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
6 그 앞에 찬란한 영광이 감돌고 그 계시는 곳에 힘과 아름다움이 있다.
Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.
7 힘과 영광을 야훼께 돌려라. 민족들아, 지파마다 야훼께 영광을 돌려라.
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8 예물을 들고 하나님 앞에 나아가 그 이름에 어울리는 영광을 야훼께 돌려라.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.
9 거룩한 광채 입으신 야훼를 경배하여라. 온 땅은 그 앞에서 무서워 떨어라.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.
10 이 땅을 든든하게 세우신 야훼 앞에서 "야훼가 왕이시다" 고 만방에 외쳐라. 만백성을 공정하게 심판하시리라. Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.

요한복음 15:9-11
9 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것처럼 나도 너희를 사랑해 왔다. 그러니 너희는 언제나 내 사랑 안에 머물러 있어라. "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
10 내가 내 아버지의 계명을 지켜 그 사랑 안에 머물러 있듯이 너희도 내 계명을 지키면 내 사랑 안에 머물러 있게 될 것이다." If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
11 "내가 이 말을 한 것은 내 기쁨을 같이 나누어 너희 마음에 기쁨이 넘치게 하려는 것이다.
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
