사도행전 2:42-47
42 그들은 사도들의 가르침을 듣고 서로 도와 주며 빵을 나누어 먹고 기도하는 일에 전념하였다.
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
43 사도들은 계속해서 놀라운 일과 기적을 많이 나타내 보이자 사람들은 모두 하나님을 두려워하게 되었다.
Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
44 믿는 사람은 모두 함께 지내며 그들의 모든 것을 공동 소유로 내어놓고
All the believers were together and had everything in common.
45 재산과 물건을 팔아서 모든 사람에게 필요한 만큼 나누어주었다.
Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.
46 그리고 한 마음이 되어 날마다 열심히 성전에 모였으며 집집마다 돌아가며 빵을 나누고 순수한 마음으로 기쁘게 음식을 함께 먹으며 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47 하나님을 찬양하였다. 이것을 보고 모든 사람이 그들을 우러러 보게 되었다. 주께서는 구원받을 사람을 날마다 늘려 주셔서 신도의 모임이 커 갔다. praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

시편 23
1 야훼는 나의 목자, 아쉬울 것 없어라. 푸른 풀밭에 누워 놀게 하시고
A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 물가로 이끌어 쉬게 하시니
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 지쳤던 이 몸에 생기가 넘친다. 그 이름 목자이시니 인도하시는 길, 언제나 곧은 길이요,
he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 나 비록 음산한 죽음의 골짜기를 지날지라도 내 곁에 주님 계시오니 무서울 것 없어라. 막대기와 지팡이로 인도하시니 걱정할 것 없어라. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 원수들 보라는 듯 상을 차려 주시고, 기름 부어 내 머리에 발라 주시니, 내 잔이 넘치옵니다.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 한평생 은총과 복에 겨워 사는 이 몸, 영원히 주님 집에 거하리이다.  Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

베드로전서 2:19-25
19 억울하게 고통을 당하더라도 하나님이 계신 것을 생각하며 괴로움을 참으면 그것은 아름다운 일입니다. For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.
20 죄를 짓고 매를 맞으면서 참으면 영예스러운 것이 무엇입니까? 그러나 선을 행하다가 고통을 당하면서 참으면 하나님의 축복을 받습니다.  
But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.
21 여러분은 바로 그렇게 살아가라고 부르심을 받은 사람들입니다. 그리스도께서도 여러분을 위해서 고난을 받으심으로써 당신의 발자취를 따르라고 본보기를 남겨 주셨습니다.
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
22 그리스도는 죄를 지으신 일이 없고 그 말씀에도 아무런 거짓이 없었습니다.
"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
23 그분은 모욕을 당하시면서도 모욕으로 갚지 않으셨으며 고통을 당하시면서도 위협하지 않으시고 정의대로 심판하시는 분에게 모든 것을 맡기셨습니다.
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
24 그분은 우리 죄를 당신 몸에 친히 지시고 십자가에 달리셔서 우리로 하여금 죄의 권세에서 벗어나 올바르게 살게 하셨습니다. 그분이 매맞고 상처를 입으신 덕택으로 여러분의 상처는 나았습니다.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
25 여러분이 전에는 길 잃은 양처럼 헤매었지만 이제는 여러분의 목자이시며 보호자이신 그분에게로 돌아 왔습니다. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

요한복음 10:1-10
1 예수께서 또 말씀하셨다. "정말 잘 들어 두어라. 양 우리에 들어 갈 때에 문으로 들어가지 않고 딴 데로 넘어 들어가는 사람은 도둑이며 강도이다. "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 양치는 목자는 문으로 버젓이 들어간다.
The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep.
3 문지기는 목자에게 문을 열어 주고 양들은 목자의 음성을 알아듣는다. 목자는 자기 양들을 하나 하나 불러내어 밖으로 데리고 나간다. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 이렇게 양떼를 불러 낸 다음에 목자는 앞장 서 간다. 양떼는 그의 음성을 알고 있기 때문에 그를 뒤따라간다. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5 양들은 낯선 사람을 결코 따라 가지 않는다. 그 사람의 음성이 귀에 익지 않기 때문에 오히려 그를 피하여 달아난다." But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."
6 예수께서 그들에게 이 비유를 말씀해 주셨지만 그들은 그 말씀이 무슨 뜻인지 깨닫지 못하였다.
Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.
7 예수께서 또 말씀하셨다. "정말 잘 들어 두어라. 나는 양이 드나드는 문이다.
Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep.
8 나보다 먼저 온 사람은 모두 다 도둑이며 강도이다. 그래서 양들은 그들의 말을 듣지 않았다.
All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 나는 문이다. 누구든지 나를 거쳐서 들어오면 안전할뿐더러 마음대로 드나들며 좋은 풀을 먹을 수 있다. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.
10 도둑은 다만 양을 훔쳐다가 죽여서 없애려고 오지만 나는 양들이 생명을 얻고 더 얻어 풍성하게 하려고 왔다." The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
