사도행전 8:26-40
26 그 때 주의 천사가 필립보에게 나타나서 "여기를 떠나 예루살렘에서 가자로 내려가는 남쪽 길로 가라" 하고 일러 주었다. (그 길은 인적이 없는 길이다.) Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Go south to the road--the desert road--that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza."
27 필립보는 그 곳을 떠나 길을 가다가 에디오피아 사람 하나를 만났다. 그는 에디오피아 여왕 간다케의 내시로서 그 여왕의 모든 재정을 관리하는 고관이었다. 그는 예루살렘을 순례하러 갔다가
So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship,
28 돌아가는 길에 마차에 앉아서 이사야의 예언서를 읽고 있었다.
and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the book of Isaiah the prophet.
29 그 때에 성령이 필립보에게 "가서 저 마차에 바싹 다가 서 보아라" 하고 말씀하셨다.
The Spirit told Philip, "Go to that chariot and stay near it."
30 필립보가 달려갔을 때 그는 이사야 예언서를 읽고 있었다. 그래서 필립보는 "지금 읽으시는 것을 아시겠습니까?" 하고 물었다. Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked.
31 그래서 그 내시는 "누가 나에게 설명해 주어야 알지 어떻게 알겠습니까?" 하고 대답하며 필립보더러 올라 와 곁에 앉으라고 하였다. "How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 그가 읽던 성서 귀절은 다음과 같았다. "도살장으로 끌려가는 양처럼 털 깎는 자 앞에서 잠잠한 어린양처럼 그는 입을 열지 않았다.  
The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture: "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
33 그는 정당한 재판을 받지 못하고 굴욕만 당하였다. 지상에서 그의 생에가 끝났으니 누가 그의 후손을 이야기하랴?" In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth."
34 내시는 필립보에게 "한 가지 묻겠는데 이 말은 예언자가 누구를 두고 한 말입니까? 자기를 두고 한 말입니까? 혹은 딴 사람을 두고 한 말입니까?" 하고 물었다. The eunuch asked Philip, "Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?"
35 필립보는 이 성서 말씀을 비롯하여 여러 가지 말씀을 풀어 예수에 관한 복음을 전하였다.
Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
36 그들이 같이 길을 가다가 물 있는 곳에 이르자 내시가 "자, 여기 물이 있습니다. 내가 세례를 받아서는 안 될 것이 무엇입니까?" 하고 물었다.  As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?"   37  (없음)
38 내시는 마차를 세우게 하고 필립보와 함께 물로 내려 가 그에게 세례를 받았다.
And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.  39 그들이 물에서 올라오자 주의 성령이 필립보를 어디론가 데리고 가셨다. 그래서 내시는 그를 볼 수 없게 되었지만 기쁨에 넘쳐 제갈 길을 갔다.  When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.  40 그 뒤 필립보는 아스돗에 나타나 여러 동네를 다니며 복음을 전하다가 마침내 가이사리아에 이르렀다. Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

시편 66:7-8, 15-20
7 그분은 영원한 힘의 통치자, 그 눈은 만방을 내려보시고 살피시니 아무도 머리 들어 반역하지 못하리라. He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations--let not the rebellious rise up against him. Selah
8 민족들아, 우리 하나님을 찬미하여라. 소리 높여 찬양하여라.
Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;
15 수양을 살라 향내 피우며 푸짐한 번제물을 드리고 염소와 함께 소를 드리옵니다.
I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah
16 하나님을 두려워하는 자들아, 다 와서 들어라. 하나님께서 나에게 하신 일을 들려주리라.
Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
17 내 입은 그분께 부르짖었으며, 내 입술은 그분을 찬양하였다.
I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
18 나 만일 나쁜 뜻을 품었더라면 주께서는 아니 들어 주셨으리라.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
19 그러나 하나님은 들어 주시고 내 기도소리에 귀를 기울이셨다.
but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
20 내 기도를 물리치지 아니하시고 당신의 사랑을 거두지 않으셨으니 하나님, 찬미 받으소서.
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!

요한복음 6:44-51
44 나를 보내신 아버지께서 이끌어 주시지 않으면 아무도 내게 올 수 없다. 그리고 내게 오는 사람은 마지막 날에 내가 살릴 것이다. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 예언서에 그들은 모두 하나님의 가르침을 받을 것이라고 기록되어있다. 누구든지 아버지의 가르침을 듣고 배우는 사람은 나에게로 온다. It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.
46 그렇다고 해서 아버지를 본 사람이 있다는 것은 아니다. 하나님께로부터 온 이밖에는 아버지를 본 사람이 없다.  No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.  47 정말 잘 들어 두어라. 믿는 사람은 누구나 영원한 생명을 누린다.
I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.
48 나는 생명의 빵이다. I am the bread of life.
49 너희의 조상들은 광야에서 만나를 먹고도 다 죽었지만
Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died.
50 하늘에서 내려 온 이 빵을 먹는 사람은 죽지 않는다.
But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.
51 나는 하늘에서 내려 온 살아 있는 빵이다. 이 빵을 먹는 사람은 누구든지 영원한 살 것이다. 내가 줄 빵은 곧 나의 살이다. 세상은 그것으로 생명을 얻게 될 것이다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."
