2005년 12월 7일 성서말씀

이사야 40:25-31
25 "내가 누구의 모습이라도 닮았다는 말이냐? 내가 누구와 같다는 말이냐?" 거룩하신 이께서 말씀하신다.
"To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
26 눈을 들어 하늘을 쳐다보아라. 누가 저 별들을 창조하였느냐? 그 군대를 불러내시어 하나하나 이름을 불러 점호하시는 이는 그분이시다. 힘이 세고 기력이 장사이신 그분의 부르심에 누가 빠질 수 있으랴?
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
27 야곱아, 네가 어찌 이런 말을 하느냐? 이스라엘아, 네가 어찌 이런 주장을 펴느냐? "야훼께서는 나의 고생길 같은 것은 관심도 하지 않으신다. 하나님께서는 내 권리 따위, 알은 체도 않으신다."
Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God"?
28 너희는 모르느냐? 듣지 못하였느냐? 야훼께서는 영원하신 하나님, 땅의 끝까지 창조하신 분이시다. 힘이 솟구쳐 피곤을 모르시고, 슬기가 무궁하신 분이시다.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 힘이 빠진 사람에게 힘을 주시고 기진한 사람에게 기력을 주시는 분이시다.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30 청년들도 힘이 빠져 허덕이겠고 장정들도 비틀거리겠지만
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;          
31 야훼를 믿고 바라는 사람은 새 힘이 솟아나리라. 날개 쳐 솟아오르는 독수리처럼 아무리 뛰어도 고단하지 아니하고 아무리 걸어도 지치지 아니하리라.
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

시편 103:6-14

6 야훼께서는 정의를 펴시고 모든 억눌린 자들의 권리를 찾아 주신다.
The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
7 모세에게 당신의 뜻을 밝혀 주시고 이스라엘 자손에게 그 장한 일을 알리셨다.
He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 야훼께서는 자비하시고 은혜로우시며 화를 참으시고 사랑이 넘치신다.
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 끝까지 따지지 아니하시고 앙심을 오래 품지 않으신다.  
He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 우리 죄를 그대로 묻지 않으시고 우리의 잘못을 그대로 갚지 않으신다.
he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 높기가 땅과 하늘에 비길 수 있고, 경외하는 자에게는 그 사랑 그지없으시다.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 동에서 서가 먼 것처럼 우리의 죄를 멀리 치우시고
as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 아비가 자식을 어여삐 여기듯이 야훼께서는 당신 경외하는 자를 어여삐 여기시니
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 우리의 됨됨이를 알고 계시며 우리가 한낱 티끌임을 아시기 때문이다.
for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

마태복음 11:28-30

28 "고생하며 무거운 짐을 지고 허덕이는 사람은 다 나에게로 오너라. 내가 편히 쉬게 하리라.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 내 멍에를 메고 나에게 배워라. 그러면 너희의 영혼이 안식을 얻을 것이다. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 내 멍에는 편하고 내 짐은 가볍다."
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

주님 사랑안에서 참된 쉼을 배울 수 있기를 소망하며 기도합니다.
