I. DAILY FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
I. 하나님과 매일의 교제


1. The first and chief need of our Christian life is, Fellowship with God. The Divine life within us comes from God, and is entirely dependent upon Him. As I need every moment afresh the air to breathe, as the sun every moment afresh sends down its light, so it is only in direct living communication with God that my soul can be strong.

1. 우리 그리스도인의 삶에서 첫번째로 필요한 것은 하나님과 교제(Fellowship with God)하는 것입니다. 우리 안에 신성한 생명은 하나님으로부터 오며 전적으로 하나님에게 달려 있습니다. 내가 매순간 새롭게 숨을 쉴 공기가 필요하듯이, 태양이 매순간 새롭게 빛을 비추듯이, 하나님과 직접적으로 살아있는 교통(direct living communication with God) 가운데 있을 때 내 영혼은 강건해질 수 있습니다.

The manna of one day was corrupt when the next day came. I must every day have fresh grace from heaven, and I obtain it only in direct waiting upon God Himself. Begin each day by tarrying before God, and letting Him touch you. Take time to meet God.

오늘의 만나는 그 다음 날이면 썩어 버립니다. 나는 매일 하늘로부터 새로운 은혜 (fresh grace)를 받아야 하고 이것은 오로지 하나님 그 분을 앙망할 때 가능한 것입니다. 하나님 앞에 머물면서 하루하루를 시작하십시오. 하나님이 당신을 만지게 하십시오. 하나님을 만나기 위한 시간을 가지십시오.


2. To this end, let your first act in your devotion be a setting yourself still before God. In prayer, or worship, everything depends upon God taking the chief place. I must bow quietly before Him in humble faith and adoration, speaking thus within my heart: “God is. God is near. God is love, longing to communicate Himself to me.

2. 하나님과의 교제를 위해 여러분이 해야 할 첫번째 행동은 하나님 앞에서 잠잠히 있는 것(setting yourself still)입니다. 기도나 예배 중에 모든 것은 가장 중심이 되시는 하나님을 향해야 합니다. 겸손한 믿음(faith)과 경외함(adoration)으로 그 분 앞에 조용히 엎드려야 합니다. 그러면서 나는 내 마음 속에서부터 하나님께 이렇게 말하는 것입니다. "하나님, 하나님은 바로 나의 곁에 계시는 분이십니다. 하나님은 사랑이십니다. 그리고 나와 교제하고 싶어하시는 분이십니다.

God the Almighty One, Who worketh all in all, is even now waiting to work in me, and make Himself known.” Take time, till you know God is very near.

전능한 하나님, 모든 것 위에 뛰어나신 당신께서 지금 내 안에 역사하기 위해 나를 기다리고 계십니다. 당신을 보여주십니다." 하나님이 바로 가까이 계시다는 것을 당신이 알 때까지 시간을 가지십시오.


3. When you have given God His place of honour, glory, and power, take your place of deepest lowliness, and seek to be filled with the Spirit of humility. As a creature it is your blessedness to be nothing that God may be all in you. As a sinner you are not worthy to look up to God; bow in self-abasement.

3. 여러분이 존귀와 영광과 권능을 하나님께 돌려 드릴 때, 여러분은 가장 낮은 자리에 거하십시오. 그리고 겸손의 영(the Spirit of humility)이 여러분을 가득채우시기를 구하십시오. 하나님은 당신 안에 모든 것이라는 사실, 피조물로서 당신에게 그 이상의 축복(blessedness)은 없습니다. 죄인으로서 당신은 하나님을 쳐다 볼 자격이 없을 뿐 아니라 오히려 자기 경멸(self-abasement) 속에서 엎드려져야 마땅한 존재입니다.

As a saint, let God’s love overwhelm you, and bow you still lower down. Sink down before Him in humility, meekness, patience, and surrender to His goodness and mercy. He will exalt you. Oh! Take time, to get very low before God.

성도로서 하나님의 사랑이 여러분에게 넘치도록 하십시오. 더 낮은 위치에서 잠잠히 하나님께 엎드리십시오. 하나님의 선하심과 자비하심을 보며 겸손(humility)과 온유(meekness)와 인내(patience)와 복종(surrender)으로 하나님 앞에서 자신을 낮추십시오. 하나님께서 당신을 높이실 것입니다. 하나님 앞에서 시간을 가지시고 자신을 낮추십시오.  


4. Then accept and value your place in Christ Jesus.
4. 그리고 나서 예수 그리스도 안에서 여러분을 받아들이시고(accept) 소중하게(value) 여기십시오.

God delights in nothing but His beloved Son, and can be satisfied with nothing else in those who draw nigh to Him. Enter deep into God’s holy presence in the boldness which the blood gives, and in the assurance that in Christ you are most well pleasing.

하나님께서는 그의 유일한 아들 외에 어떤 것도 기뻐하시지 않습니다. 그는 그에게 가까이 나아오는 자들 안에 어떤 다른 것에서도 만족하실 수 없습니다. 보혈이 주는 담대함으로 그리스도 안에서 당신을 기뻐한다는 확신을 가지고 하나님의 거룩한 임재(God's holy presence)로 더 깊이 들어가십시오.

In Christ you are within the veil. You have access into the very heart and love of the Father. This is the great object of fellowship with God, that I may have more of God in my life, and that God may see Christ formed in me. Be silent before God and let Him bless you.

그리스도 안에서 당신은 휘장 안에 있습니다. 당신은 하나님의 가장 깊은 마음과 사랑 안에 들어와 있습니다. 이것이 하나님과 교제를 하는 가장 위대한 목적입니다. 그 결과 나는 하나님으로부터 오는 것을 더 많이 가지게 될 것입니다. 하나님은 나를 빚어가시는 그리스도를 보실 것입니다. 하나님 앞에서 침묵하고 하나님이 여러분을 축복하도록 하십시오.


5. This Christ is a living Person. He loves you with a personal love, and He looks every day for the personal response of your love. Look into His face with trust, till His love really shines into your heart. Make His heart glad by telling Him that you do love Him.

5. 이러한 그리스도께서는 살아계시는 인격(a Living Person)이십니다. 그는 당신을 인격적인 사랑(personal love)으로 사랑하시는 분이십니다. 그는 매일 당신의 사랑의 인격적인 반응(peronal response)을 기다리시는 분이십니다. 그 분의 사랑이 진정 여러분의 마음을 비출 때까지 신뢰를 가지고 그의 얼굴을 바라보십시오. 그분께 여러분이 진정 그분을 사랑한다는 것을 말함으로서 그의 마음이 기쁘도록 하십시오.

He offers Himself to you as a personal Saviour and Keeper from the power of sin. Do not ask, can I be kept from sinning, if I keep close to Him? But ask can I be kept from sinning, if He always keeps close to me? And you see at once how safe it is to trust Him.

예수님은 죄의 능력으로부터 구원하는 인격적인 구원자(personal Saviour)로서 보호하는 자(Keeper)로서 여러분에게 당신 자신을 주셨습니다. 내가 주님께로 가까이 가면 죄를 멀리할 수 있는지 묻지 말고 그분께서 항상 여러분에게 가까이 오신다면 내가 죄를 멀리 할 수 있는지를 물으십시오. 예수님을 신뢰하는 것이 얼마나 안전한지 곧 보게 될 것입니다.


6. We have not only Christ’s life in us as a power, and His presence with us as a person, but we have His likeness to be wrought into us. He is to be formed in us, so that His form or figure, His likeness, can be seen in us.

6. 우리는 능력으로 우리 안에 그리스도의 생명을 가지고, 인격적 존재로서 그리스도께서 우리 안에 임재하실 뿐만 아니라 우리 안에 예수님의 형상(His likeness)을 가지게 되었습니다. 그가 우리를 빚어가심으로 우리 안에 그분의 형상(likeness)과 이미지(form)가 나타나게 되었습니다.

Bow before God until you get some sense of the greatness and blessedness of the work to be carried on by God in you this day. Say to God, “Father, here am I for Thee to give as much in me of Christ’s likeness as I can receive.” And wait to hear Him say, “My child, I give thee as much of Christ as thy heart is open to receive.”

오늘 당신 안에 하나님으로부터 임하는 축복과 위대함을 인식할 때까지 하나님 앞에 엎드리십시오. 하나님께 이렇게 아뢰십시오. "내가 여기 있나이다. 제가 받을 수 있는 만큼 그리스도의 형상이 내 안에 이루어지게 하옵소서." 그리고 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하시기를 기다리십시오. "내 아들아 딸아, 너의 마음이 그리스도의 형상이 이루어지는 일에 열리는 만큼 내가 주겠다."

The God who revealed Jesus in the flesh and perfected Him, will reveal Him in thee and perfect thee in Him. The Father loves the Son, and delights to work out His image and likeness in thee. Count upon it that this blessed work will be done in thee as thou waitest on thy God, and holdest fellowship with Him.

순전하고 완전한 모습으로 예수님을 드러내신 하나님께서 우리 안에 예수님을 드러내고 예수님 안에서 우리를 온전케 하실 것입니다. 하늘에 아버지께서는 그의 독생자를 사랑하시고 우리 안에 그의 이미지(image)와 형상(likeness)이 역사하기를 기뻐하십니다. 하나님을 앙망함으로 교제함(fellowship with God)으로 이런 축복이 여러분 안에 이루어지도록 이 축복을 붙드십시오.
