Dear friends and co-workers in Yeshua the Messiah in the work of ministry to Israel. We move forward in sharing the gospel, thanks to your prayers and your support. I want to thank all of you from all my heart and please accept my gratefulness for the prayers for my family.

Because I already invited you to visit our web-site, I won't go into detail about all of the ministires within Return to Zion.  However, I would like to inform you about two interesting projects, for which you already faithfully pray.  

제가 저희 홈페이지를 방문해 달라고 홍보를 했으니 이제 더 이상 시온으로 귀환 교회의 모든 사역들을 일일이 나열할 필요는 없겠죠. 하지만 이미 여러분이 중보해 주고 계신 두가지 사역에 관해 새 소식을 전해 드리고 싶군요.



1.  The Soup Kitchen After operating for more than 3 years now, we still distribute 1500-1700 hot meals every month to the needy people. Needy people are those who are not only alcoholics and drug addicts but also mentally sick people. There are some people among those who receive help who are seriously sick and they spend almost all their money to buy medicines and our goal is to make their life a little bit easier. In taking are of these people, we honor the commandment ‘to honor your father and mother’.

1. 이제 3년째 이어져 오는 수프 키친 사역은 지금도 매달 1500-1700끼의 따뜻한 식사를 필요한 분들에게 제공하고 있습니다. 식사를 제공 받는 분들 중에는 알콜 중독자와 마약 중독자들만 있는 것이 아니라 정신 질환을 앓고 있는 분들도 있습니다. 도움을 받는 분들 중에는 심각하게 아픈 분들이 있고 가진 거의 모든 재정을 약을 사는 데 쓰는 분들이 있습니다. 우리는 이분들의 삶을 조금이라도 돕는데 애쓰고 있습니다. “너의 부모를 공경하라”는 계명을 기억하며 이 분들을 섬깁니다.



We are in the process of renting a new building for Netzer-ha-Galil congregation. We are in the middle of negotiations and we hope to rent this building to increase size and quality of the kitchen. Up to this time, we have been working in a very small kitchenette- with two small toaster ovens and a few burners and everything was very simple. However, for this particular work the size has limited our capacity. We desire to increase our meals to feed more needy people.  I would like to ask you to pray for the opportunity to remodel the Soup Kitchen in Nazareth.  We need about $7000-8000 for this remodeling..    

저희는 네체르 하 갈릴 교회를 위한 새 건물을 임대할 계획을 갖고 있습니다. 저희는 지금 계약 교섭단계에 있고 키친 사역의 성장을 위해 좀 더 넓은 공간을 확보하고자 이 건물임대를 추진하고 있습니다. 바로 지금 이 순간까지도 저희는 조그만 두대의 토스트기와 버너 몇 개가 있을 뿐인 조그만 부엌에서 사역을 계속해 왔습니다. 하지만 저희가 급식 대상자의 범위를 넓히려고 하는 만큼 좀 더 큰 공간이 확보되었으면 합니다. 나사렛의 수프 키친 사역을 리모델링 하려는 저희를 위해 기도해 주십시오. 이 리모델링을 위해 저희는 약 7000에서 8000달러 가량의 비용이 필요합니다.



Continue to pray for the Kitchen in Haifa. We see the real need of it and believe that since we have been able to feed so many with a little space, with more space, we can feed many more people.  The results are tremendous after over three years of operation.  We see how God touches people through this act of mercy and opens the door to their hearts. “He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah6:8)

하이파의 키친사역을 위해서도 기도를 멈추지 말아 주십시오. 이곳에서 저희는 이 사역의 필요성을 날이 갈수록 더 절실하게 느끼고 있습니다. 이렇게 작은 공간에서 이 정도의 인원을 먹일 수 있었다면 좀 더 큰 공간에서라면 얼마나 많은 사람에게 도움을 줄 수 있을까 하고 저희는 기대하고 있습니다. 지난 삼년간의 노력의 결과는 실로 막대했습니다. 우리는 이 사역을 통해 하나님께서 어떻게 사람들의 마음을 여시는지를 눈앞에서 보고 있습니다.
  “사람아 주께서 선한 것이 무엇임을 네게 보이셨나니 여호와께서 네게 구하시는 것이 오직 공의를 행하며 인자를 사랑하며 겸손히 네 하나님과 함께 행하는 것이 아니냐”(미가6:8)





2.       Ministry to the Holocaust Survivors

2. 홀로코스트 생존자 구제 사역



We have been blown away by the dynamite results of this ministry to the Holocaust Survivors! The effect has been like an explosion of God's love bursting into their hearts and ours. We wouldn’t be able to do it without your help and I want to present to your attention small report. Since September 2007 we had:

우리는 실로 홀로코스트 생존자 사역에서 폭발적인 반응을 얻었습니다! 그 효과란 마치 하나님의 사랑이 우리와 그들의 마음속에서 폭발한 듯 한 것이였습니다. 이것은 여러분의 도움 없이는 불가능한 일이였고 그런 의미에서 여러분께 2007년 9월부터 있었던 일들을 짧게나마 보고하고자 합니다:



i. Rosh-ha-Shana celebration (Feast of Trumpets) – 3 services - 260 people

로쉬 하 사나 축제(트럼펫축제) –세 번의 예배- 260명

ii. Tour trip to Katzrin – 30 people

카츠린 관광 – 30명

iii. Tour to Jerusalem – 150 people

예루살렘 관광 – 150명

iv. Services in Nazareth and Haifa – 90 people

나사렛과 하이파 예배 -90명

v. New Year concert in Haifa – 50 people

하이파 신년 콘서트 – 50명



These people are unbelievers but they are not just expressing openness in our sharing the message of the gospel with words and actions, they are responding with initiative. By their request, we have stated a course of studying the Holy Scriptures and we plan to start Hebrew classes for them soon.  We know that these ministries are partly only social works but it says in James– “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” These old people who passed through indescribable sufferings and were so close to death are telling us today about ‘strange feeling of joy’ after every event that we make for them.  They are asking so many questions!!! Then, they actually listen to the answers.

이 분들은 전부 신앙이 없는 분들이지만 우리의 말씀 전파 사역에 대해 마음을 여는 정도가 아니라 그 이상의, 매우 적극적인 말과 행동으로 반응하고 있습니다. 이들의 요청으로 우리는 성경공부 강좌를 개설했고 가까운 시일 내에 히브리어 강좌도 개설할 계획입니다. 우리도 이런 사역이 다소 사회복지적인 측면이 있다는 것을 압니다. 하지만 야고보서는 우리에게 이렇게 말합니다.
  “너는 믿음이 있고 나는 행함이 있으니 행함이 없는 네 믿음을 내게 보이라 나는 행함으로 내 믿음을 네게 보이리라” 말로 설명 못할 고난과 죽음의 공포를 겪으셨던 이 연로한 분들은 우리들이 준비한 모든 행사에서 전에 없이 어떤 ‘기이한 기쁨’을 느끼신다고 고백했습니다. 그들은 너무나도 많은 질문을 하고 계십니다!! 그리고는 그 질문에 대한 저희의 대답 하나하나를 주의해서 들으신답니다.  



In November 2007, we started to visit 30 people in Haifa and 30 people in Nazareth with food packages. We do this not only because many of them live in poverty, but also because there are many disabled people among them who cannot even prepare a hot meal for themselves. In addition to this, the numbers of Holocaust Survivors without children and families is very high.  

2007년 11월에 우리는 하이파에 거주하는 30명과 나사렛에 거주하는 30명에게로 음식을 가지고 방문했습니다. 우리는 이 일을 단순히 그들이 가난하기 때문에 하는 것이 아니라 이들 중 많은 분들이 신체에 장애가 있어 식사를 스스로 준비하지 못하시기 때문입니다. 그리고 홀로코스트 생존자들 중에는 자녀나 가족이 없는 분들이 아주 많기 때문입니다.

Please support me with your prayers because I will be in Russia from the 24th of February until the 10th of March. I will be participating in services devoted to connecting Israel and the church in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
