하나님께 어떤 것을 간구하면서 그저 앉아만 있다면 하나님을 모욕하는 것이다.
우리는 기도하면서 또한 일해야 한다. 경건과 일은 함께 간다.
건강을 위해 기도한 뒤 늦은 밤에 소화하기 힘든 만찬을 먹으러 간다면 그 기도는 하나님을 무시하는 것이다.
옥상의 물탱크가 열린 것을 알면서도 내버려 두는 자는 가족의 안전을 위해 기도할 자격이 없다.

It is an outrage to ask God to do a thing while we sit passively.
