예레미야 애가 4:11-22 지도자를 위해
12 예루살렘 성문으로 원수들이 들어 올 줄을, 세상 어느 임금이 믿었으랴! 땅 위에 사는 누가 믿었으랴!
The kings of the earth did not believe, nor did any of the world's people, that enemies and foes could enter the gates of Jerusalem.
13 성 안에서 죄없는 사람의 피를 흘린 예언자들의 죄, 사제들의 악 때문이 아니었던가!
But it happened because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, who shed within her the blood of the righteous.
14 피투성이가 되어 소경처럼 거리를 헤매자 사람들이 그 옷깃에도 스치우기 싫어,
Now they grope through the streets like men who are blind. They are so defiled with blood that no one dares to touch their garments.
15 "더러운 것들, 썩 물러가라. 저리 가라, 저리 가라, 가까이 오지 말라 " 고 소리치는 바람에 몸을 피해 떠돌아다니며 이 나라 저 나라에 가서 살아 보려 해도 몸붙일 데가 없었다.
"Go away! You are unclean!" men cry to them. "Away! Away! Don't touch us!" When they flee and wander about, people among the nations say, "They can stay here no longer."
16 야훼께서는 당신 앞에서 쫓겨 가는 자들을 다시는 돌보지 않으셨다. 사제라고 해서 달리 보아 주시지 아니하시고 노인들이라고 불쌍히 여기시지도 않으셨다. The LORD himself has scattered them; he no longer watches over them. The priests are shown no honor, the elders no favor.
17 행여 누가 도와 주려나 하고 눈이 빠지게 기다리다가 우리는 지쳤다. 구해 주지도 못할 나라를 부질없이 기다리기만 하였다. Moreover, our eyes failed, looking in vain for help; from our towers we watched for a nation that could not save us.
18 길목마다 지키는 자들이 있어 한길도 우리는 마음놓고 다니지 못했다. 끝날은 눈앞에 다가 왔다. 우리의 날수가 찼다. 드디어 끝날은 왔구나. Men stalked us at every step, so we could not walk in our streets. Our end was near, our days were numbered, for our end had come.
19 우리를 쫓기는 자, 하늘의 솔개보다 빨라 산등성이에서는 끈질기게 따라 오고 광야에서는 덮치려고 숨어서 노리고 잇다. Our pursuers were swifter than eagles in the sky; they chased us over the mountains and lay in wait for us in the desert.
20 야훼께서 기름 부어 세우신 왕, 우리의 숨결, 만국 가운데서 그 그늘 아래 깃들어 살리라 했는데 그마저 원수들의 함정에 빠져 잡히고 말았구나. The LORD'S anointed, our very life breath, was caught in their traps. We thought that under his shadow we would live among the nations.
21 우스 땅에 자리한 에돔의 수도야, 좋다고 날뛰어 보아라. 너에게도 잔을 내리실 것이다. 너도 취하면 벌거숭이가 될 것이다. Rejoice and be glad, O Daughter of Edom, you who live in the land of Uz. But to you also the cup will be passed; you will be drunk and stripped naked.
22 수도 시온아, 네 벌은 이제 끝났다. 다시는 사로잡혀 가는 일 없으리라. 에돔의 수도야, 주께서 너에게 벌을 내리시리라. 네 죄의 댓가로 사로잡혀 가게 하시리라.
O Daughter of Zion, your punishment will end; he will not prolong your exile. But, O Daughter of Edom, he will punish your sin and expose your wickedness.
